My personal opinion is that u can wait a few more days. The prices are expected to hoover around this range. However, SPC will be releasing its results b4 the mth end. If u decide to enter, it would be advisable to enter a few days b4 the release of the results.

Hi Singaporegal, TA gurus or other FA gurus, any views on this stock, it had reach a low of 4.24, is it time for entry, or is it still on the downtrend? Any opinions, is it time to pick up this stock now?? Thanks.

hi yongjiu- on 8/9/05 @1315hrs, the market reivew by the radio 958 said that the spc price will not be drop below $4.88 cos of some reason(can't remember the detail reason). As i eye on this stock quite some times and happen that i had some spare cash on that day. so vested at 4.88 (closing price ). anyway  i still hold it, confident to get certain profit by this year sept.

- how do one analyse the trade summary matrix?

- e.g. at 4.340 how come only got SellVol but no BuyVol?
(who take the 22 lot sold?)

- in-balance Buy / Sell Vol at the end of the day of the, how does SGX handle it?

I just realise that "Interest" is spelt wrong. I actually lifted this from its website. Such a big company never do proof reading properly. Not a good sign. Or maybe they are too excited about the news.

Hi Elfinchilde,

Yes I know SPC is fundamentally sound:). I was surprised when I read one of your earlier posts that for SPC "FA is not good". Anyway, I am not vested in SPC.

Crude oil price may have corrected, but I believe it is still a general uptrend.

The stock guru David Bensimon and ex US President, Bill Clinton think crude oil price will eventually hit US$100 a barrel. Bill Clinton once said,"Everybody I know that is in this business, tell me it is going to US$100 a barrel in the future."

In today's business times 6 Jan 07, Angus Mcphail, oil and natural resources analyst at investment fund manager Alliance Trust said," What we are seeing at the moment is short term volatility. There is some evidence of weakening demand but to fall below US$60 is a bit of an overreaction." Traders have yet to see a rush of new money from investment funds on the scale that boosted prices at the beginning of last January, but fund managers say more could be on the way albeit at a slower rate.

Mark Mathias, cheif executive at British based investment firm Dawnay Day Quantum, predicted more new money would come into oil and commodities. He said,"There is a hige amount of money still to come into the sector and we are still at an early stage of the commoditries bull run.".

14 out of 29 analysts, trarders and brokers surveyed by Bloomberg expected prices to drop next week as the weather is a huge factor weighing on this market.

There could be more downside for SPC but I hope it will bounce back strongly for those invested in it.

Shplayer? You hit it on the head already! It?s a point I?ve been trying to make all along: markets do not truly move on real fundamentals (of which SPC is solid, judging from its previous annual reports), they move on sentiment.

Hi elf,

Good information, I enjoy reading your info overload posting!!!
Salute from me and welcome to fellowship of the SPC!!! =)

elf,

Thanks for your response...which explains the market's perception of SPC tied in with oil supply and demand which in turn is reflected in the price of oil.

I invested in SPC early 2004 after reading about a tightening of refining capacity worldwide. This 'hunch' proved correct and I have been rewarded handsomely. I have sold most of my holdings from the time of Kartina (Sep 2005) and 2006. I held on to some in anticipation of the positive impact the Oyang production willl have on SPC...but the delays getting it on stream has been disappointing.

Guess will hold on to it till FY06 results and then decide on the next course of action.......anyway, my cost after dividents FY03, 04, 05) is about $1.00......so no sweat.

Gaintlow:- I had been in ur position few years back. just treat it as the learning fee. don think back. through my experience, my advise is to cut lost ( i feel it is quite difficult to recover for this kind of warrant stock), cash back about 10k(base on ur post), purchase blue chips, suggest Sgx ,ocbc, ST Engr'ing or even cheap good pontenial stock . suggest,  chip eng seng. all green. ho bee. keep few mths let this stocks grow to built up ur confident first and cheer u up. then u can fight the war again. i am a FA investor. Yr 2006, all my stocks growth except SPC.( i received wrong info on 8/9/05 @1320hrs from radio 958)

elf, singaporegal is rite, i am only holding the warrants not the motherstock.

yup. 3 years savings from my lowly job.

some pessimistic thinking can be applied to Nietzsche "perhaps whatever that doesn't kill u is keeping u alive for the sole purpose of tormenting u until u die "

hm...singaporegal, i believe our giantlow is holding on to both warrants and motherstock...

yeah, wait for financial reports. they give good divvies. heehee. Livermore, yep, SPC is very sound. Good divvy in fact, if you look at their track record. For the long term investor, no prob at all. you can even look to buy in more when it bottoms out.

giantlow...3 years of savings....eek. but yea, it's what you learn from it that's important. like rogue_trader said; we only learn from experience, and hard experience makes us much better.

or, as Nietzsche says, "Whatever doesn't kill me, makes me stronger." Hang in there, man!

Oh yah... I forgot you are holding on to warrants.

Ok... I guess waiting for the results of the financial reports would be prudent. Keep us posted ya?
