Asia Water Treatment up 30% today (!)  All I can see is a broker recommendation with target at .82 (AWT is at 1.00 right now).  That one's too small/illiquid for me but maybe some of you can look at it.

oops. sorry jackjames, i thought with the high of 82cts today you could still profit from it. i got mine at 72cts and disposed them at 81.5cts. been a long while, can't wait to dispose them off :p

but teeth53 is right. since already held on for such a long time, why not wait till you can have nice kopi $ then let go? already waited so long, to dispose them off at 86cts seems to be rather wasted. wait see if it can hump towards 90cts perhaps? :)

SingaporeGal, I may not have been clear but I was asking if a small move higher would trigger a TA re-rating to "buy/strong-momentum" or if no move higher could do that.  Or conversely if a small move lower would trigger a "sell/lost-momentum" signal.  It might have been the case that a move higher would trigger "buy" but a move lower would not necessarily trigger "sell" which means the risk/reward could be skewed to the upside.  While I'm at it, what is your read now?

I ended up paying up to .80 to get some more shares it just didn't look like it was going lower.  I heard from someone that met with the company that co. believes their stock is cheap.  I would infer from this that they will do everything possible to avoid equity or equity-linked issuance which is good for the stock holders.  There is still a funding concern but if they ever announce bank funding that could be the next catalyst.  And of course there's the pending findings of the inquiry into the ex-Chairman's allegations.

Is it bad form to ask for "good post" marks?  Must.Reach.The.Next.Level.  :)

For short term traders and other interested followers:  price action through .80 looks very bullish with large bids below.  A similar thing happened when the stock went through .70.  There are large buyers in the market even at +5% at .80 and below.  Retail investors without a fundamental view might be exiting here but institutional sellers will not let go of stock now.  There will be a vacuum of stock on offer so to get invested the big boys will have to lift offers.  It's always hard to understand this effect, why get more aggressive when the stock moves up and why are offers being pulled?  It's because a majority of investors don't like to take a view without confirmation.  Once there's confirmation they will pile in.  Sellers see the sudden interest and decide to hold off for better levels or rethink their view.  Why is this not overbought?  Because you need to look at the stock in context of the rest of the market and other water stocks.  The move today is just a small part of a correction of a major dislocation.  Safe to buy here still.  If you're really cautious sell if the stock falls below .80 since that would indicate that the buyers are temporarily exhausted.  Of course, that's cautious trading. I am trying to buy myself below .80 so maybe you'll be selling to me there...

The large volume move yesterday and break into recent high with confirmation today is quite significant in my opinion.  My own version of TA suggests that this is stock is poised for a surge.  As I remarked in the past the stock has been in a holding pattern for a few weeks prior to earnings and possible CB arbitrage has made the reaction slower than you would expect normally.  I reiterated several times you should be buying aggressively before the insitutional buyers come in.  Now you are going to have the perfect storm:  huge price gap on non-core issue, major valuation gap to peers and market, scarcity value of pure China water treatment play with enough market cap to attract institutional buyers, analyst revisions, technical buyers, etc., etc.    I don't think it's too late to buy now, there is upside to a minimum of .90.  If you are hoping for .50 go get in it will never get there from normal price fluctuation.  Your downside risk on this stock is probably .73 from here.  Please keep in mind (as I have pointed out in the past) water plays in HK have been on fire.  This stock could easily jump to 1.1 or 1.2 on pure sentiment and still not be "rich."

I am begging to differ from Gal on the matter of price target...

In my view, price target should be one's main focus when playing a stock which fluctuates and does not remain in uptrends or downtrends indefinitely.

Thus it would be rather useless for one to know a trend, for example, without a planned price target to benefit from a transient trend which can reverse at an appropriate time as determined by the significant market participants..

Hi FearAndGreed,

Sorry for the late reply... price targets are meaningless to me and cannot be used to determine trend.

I mainly make use of Acc/Dist chart to determine if it is on uptrend or downtrend.

as far as I can tell, Bio-treat will either slide slowly downwards or be more or less stagnant.
