STOCKS NEWS SINGAPORE-Genting Hong Kong at 17-month high
By 0204 GMT, Genting Hong Kong shares were up 2.5 percent at $0.415 with 14 million shares traded, compared to its full day average volume of 17 million shares over the last five sessions.
Reuters
Shares of Genting Hong Kong Ltd rose as
much as 6.2 percent to a 17-month high after its part-owned unit
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCL) made a strong
market debut on the Nasdaq.
Genting Hong Kong has jumped 20 percent since the start of
the year.
On Friday, shares of NCL, a global cruise line operator,
surged 30.5 percent above its initial public offering price of
$19 on its first day of trading.
CIMB Research said this values the company at $5 billion
versus its estimate of $2.4 billion and the company's initial
valuation of $1 billion when Genting Hong Kong bought it in
2000.
"Guidance from the IPO shows that our numbers and valuations
of NCL were too conservative," said CIMB, adding that its two
new ships will command a 30 percent premium in ticket pricing,
making them key growth drivers for NCL and Genting Hong Kong.
CIMB raises its earnings per share forecasts for Genting
Hong Kong by 3-40 percent, and said the next big catalyst for
its shares would be the listing of Travellers, which develops
and operates its Manila integrated resort.
I have realized my profit today and good luck to everyone.
Maybe people may cash out of the stock, and use the money to try their luck at the tables...

Genting SP has become sleeping stock : (

Looks tired...no direction...

Losing patience with this ...
CK lack of strength to push above 1.5
If it could stay above $1.48 today then it will very position. I have been waiting for a pull back but it did not happen,  I'm still think should jump in today or continue to wait.
Singapore ups ante for casino firms with new rules, bigger fines. The operators, which have been fined for admitting minors and failing to collect the levy for the government, will face a maximum penalty of 10 percent of annual gross gaming revenue. The current cap on fines is S$1 million but, if fully enforced, the new ceiling could be closer to S$200 million.I think going forward profit will be under pressure  even with the lesiure and attractions  fully rolled out as gaming side tends to bring in the bulk of revenues .But hope for CNY rally for this stock is always there.
Genting Singapore may not follow Macau plays’ rise
WRITTEN BY THE EDGE
TUESDAY, 08 JANUARY 2013
While Macau gaming plays have rallied so far this year, Genting Singapore (G13.SG) may not follow in their footsteps. Macau is partly getting a boost from a better outlook for China’s economy this year, compared with last year, as well as December’s strong 20% on-year gaming revenue rise, with a 15% VIP revenue rise, an analyst says.
“For three months, big players didn’t want to be that visible leading up to the political transition,” he says “given we’ve gone beyond the transition, we’ve had a normalisation.” He adds “the earnings growth of Macau inherently is going to be a lot stronger than Singapore’s for a long time. It just doesn’t face the restrictions.”
Singapore has no junkets, making the market heavily dependent on Genting Singapore and MBS for credit, while the increasing government scrutiny is probably making it more difficult for casinos to pursue the local market, he says “it’s never been easy for the VIP.”
He notes both resorts’ hotels are effectively full “it’s difficult to get people into Singapore given the hotel market is so tight.” Genting Singapore is down 0.7% at $1.45.
