Can anyone help me with this ?

Saw advert in Today of M1 about vodafone broadband. How much or how big is 5GB free bundle?

Can understand on per hour basis, ( eg. singtel dial-up is $1/- per hour , cyber cafe $2/- per hour) but what is 5GB free data bundle ?

Do you think it is worthwhile to subscribe to this when wireless@sg is around ? What will be pros and cons for this offer ?

Yes,i go for top 25 or 50 companies. No share holding of below S$1 type of co.And must have good track record of divvy payments.Like in the example STE and SPC.

Everything in life have risks, even walking down the road.

To me spore is a very, very good position now to play margin.Cos,margin interest is 6% and divvy can be also 6%.

In Australia, alot of ppl come to know of margin lending,so banks here put up interest rate to 10% and divvy 5.5 to 6%.

I was one of the pioneer in australia to play margin and got away with it.

geojam: thanks for sharing on margin lending and how it works. so u usually go for shares that got pay dividends? So can use the dividends to offset the loan interest?

But margin lending is treading on dangerous ground cuz if you did not manage it well you could face yourself paying monies especially when banks make margin calls to ask you top up correct?

I still tink take that loan amount and go casino play one shot Big Small even better double your amount instanteneously!!!! Perth Bursewood casino comes into my mind :)

point noted.

Smltimer

I have not forgotten ur post, just that i do not like to write long post and also do not like to read. However b4 ppl ask SJ to erase entertainment section as it is considered rubbish posting,i thought i better explained to u what is margin lending.

U have to put up with my poor expression as i only finished sec5.

Say u have S$100,000 worth of SPC shares.Banks or financial inst.will lend u 70% of the value.So they will lend u S$70k.Withthat u can do what u like----weddings,parties etc...

U can also use the S$70k to buy say STE.So the bank will lend u further 70%,ie,S$49k.

U can then use the S$49k to but spc shares again, and again the bank will further lend u S$34,400 say S$35k.

This will keep going on.

so up to now,u borrow S$154k but ur value of shares is worthS$254K.The percentage is 154 divided by 254=61%.

That is ok cos it is below 70%.U can look big cos when ppl ask u what is ur worth u can say S$154k w.o telling them ur loan amount.

For safety, keep it between 55% to 60% as a buffer against big and sharp correction cos the bank will ask u to top up or they will sell away ur shares to recover loan.

The other thing is u have to pay interest on the S$154k loan which at the moment is about 6%==annual of S$9240.

The divvy generated by the shares of S$254 is worth about S$14000.

So ur divvy can more than cover the interest.

What most ppl do is to spend away the extra divvy received,ie,S$14000 less S$9240.

For me i use it to reduced the loan. Also since u are working,ur pay can also go in to reduce the loan. This is important cos when a good share come along u have the capacity to buy or u can do averaging.

Ok that is.Too long for me.have RSI.

sorry Luostock,  I think it is because many ppl quite shy about sending personal info... ppl like me actually quite tired of submitting for surveys.... anyway.. I doubt if your survey would help achieve the objective you have stated...

if you want to get rich, just go for it... dont spend time doing surveys ... unless you want the sell the info that you collected out of the survey in which case I say not so nice leh....

I am just an ordinary man.U keep forgetting that i have margin loan.

U have added up the Asset side but left out the Liabilities.

That is why ppl ask what is ur NET worth.

I also agree with choohian, she is so wise.

yea. short term STE might be topping out (1 mth) but if you're a nice duckie and like to sit long on your nest of stocks, this one's a pretty egg to keep tho.
