Game plan today should be straightforward. Nice gap-up for STI and GSP expected. GSP indicators are all turning positive after yesterday's session including a MACD bullish crossover. OCBC analyst released a statement after market closed yesterday stating that GSP may see a positive surprise on earnings on 12th Nov.
Part-time traders/investors who missed yesterday's session will want in today, and so the GSP bull should continue till late morning session. Between 11am and 12.30pm some profit taking should be expected as folks cash out to prepare for MIT launch at 2pm today. However I still expect GSP to end the day with a white candle.
GSP has just broken out from an ascending triangle pattern yesterday and so uptrend till results announcement can be expected. Any corrections in the coming 3 weeks before announcement should be fast and quick.
Folks have asked me what price is best to sell. For long term investors, there is no issue. For traders on margin, you may want to set your trailing stop loss running today, or to sell some on hitting your profit target. For those with more holding power, you can wait till the first black candle appears.
Good luck and all the best !

Ok, but just take note if gap-up is 2 to 3 cents, some folks may decide to profit take during the first 15 mins.

My fibonanci target shows 2.37 as resistance. Quite close, we shall see if GSP has the bull power to run from 2.26 to 2.37 without taking a break.

Singapore’s Straits Times Index declined 0.4% to 3,179.15 at the close. Almost four stocks dropped for each that rose on the 30-member gauge.
Shares on the measure trade at an average 15.6 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.4 times at the beginning of the year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The following shares were among the most active in the market. Commodity suppliers: The Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, declined 1.9% yesterday in New York. Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based commodities supplier, fell 1.6% to $1.91. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, decreased 2.2% to $3.17. Genting Singapore Plc (GENS SP): Owner of one of two casino resorts in the city advanced 5.1% to $2.26, a record close. The company’s third-quarter earnings may positively surprise, Carey Wong, an analyst at OCBC Investment Research said. The results are expected to be announced on Nov. 12. Neptune Orient Lines (NOL SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest container carrier, climbed 3.4% to $2.13 after reporting third-quarter profit that beat estimates. “Global trade is likely to remain firm next year and Neptune Orient will benefit from higher volumes and rates,” Alfred Low, an analyst at Philip Securities in Singapore, wrote in a note to investors today, raising his recommendation on the stock to “buy” from “hold.” Osim International (OSIM SP), Asia’s biggest maker of massage chairs outside of Japan, advanced 3.8% to $1.09. The company said third-quarter profit increased 86% to $13 million from a year earlier. OCBC Investment Research raised its share-price estimate to $1.52 from $1.29, while DMG & Partners Pte increased its forecast to $1.57 from $1.32. |

US Stocks Erase Most Of Previous Day's Losses
By Jonathan Cheng
U.S. stocks jumped Wednesday, erasing most of the previous day's bruising losses as a positive outlook from the financial sector and a spate of strong earnings from airlines and other bellwethers gave investors reasons for optimism.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 129.35 points, or 1.18%, to finish at 11107.97, while the Standard & Poor's 500-stock index was higher by 12.27 points at 1178.17 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 20.44 points to 2457.39.
Materials and energy stocks were two of the best performing sectors, a day after both were clobbered by fears over Beijing's attempts to slow the world's second-largest economy. Cliffs Natural Resources added 3.6%, Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold gained 2.8%, and Massey Energy jumped 5.1% amid reports the Richmond, Va., miner is exploring a potential sale of the company.
Transport stocks also soared, with the Dow Jones Transportation Average gaining 2.2% after a trio of airlines reported strong earnings.
Delta Air Lines jumped 11% after swinging to a third-quarter profit and reporting strong forward bookings through the holiday season. American Airlines parent AMR Corp. surged 13% after its first profit in two years, while US Airways Group gained 7.4% on strong earnings. JetBlue Airways and United Continental rode the wave of optimism, picking up 6.8% and 7.6% respectively.
"People are getting confident that earnings are going to be good this year," said Maris Ogg, president of Tower Bridge Advisors. "Maybe not to the level where we have 75% or 80% of companies beating expectations, but people are more confident the economy is on a more even keel."
Intel and Boeing helped advance the broad-based rally, which included all but three of the Dow's 30 components and all 10 sectors of the S&P 500.
Dun think so far,
based on technical charting, $2.40 is a deal done.
$2.50 is within 2 weeks time frame.
It is likely that the price will go up instead of down till result is up.
And based on rumour up and news downs, punters will chase the stock before it really correct. Unlike last Q when no body expect it to shame analyst estimates, this time pple already q to buy.
So dun bet it will go down these two weeks. Yesterday DJ plunge did not cause a dent , it is unlikely it will hurt this stock regardless of DJ movement till result is out when all the buyers has been shoved into the gate.
After which, the water fall will come in unless the results shows extra ordinary fare that topple up best analyst estimate. Maybe a $600m profit will make it hit the roof at $2.80 in short term.
Base on last Q result if X4 the dividend payout is achieved at 5% yield at $2 stock price. This is a dividend play which is reasonable but a double in this Q profit will make all investor drip saliva for more price appreciate to achieve dividend parity at $3 at least.
Good luck and heng heng.
Truly vested. 120lots.
But my feet still on the ground. Dumping at $2.50 to enjoy sunshine, orange juice and sunglass at RWS next month. if it materialize.
