a small correction, lewsh88 sir, not millionaire but MULTI millionaireS$$$... why? 2.2 million x say 15 years = 33 million not including pension, first class travel plus other unmentioned perks etc....  and of course Jabba the Hut  says it seems we have some similarities........

 

well faiygal, I agree with you completely on your perspective of life....., although for some, as Shakespeare puts it in Macbeth...  "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets its hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more, it is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifiing nothing..."   I believe with some "magic" blessings, we have a choice of the type of life we want it to be.......

Yesterday & today's ST forum page on unhappiness with ministers' imminent pay rise and how high medical cost is going to bankrupt us and our children if we have to support our elderly parents, is food for thought.

Pls do not call ministers/perm secs/etc.. civil or public servants. They are no more getting miserble low wages like the British Colony/Lim Yew Hock/David Marshall days. Today, these people are millionaires not through corruption but through exorbitant wages.

if Elfie is in her late 20's, she can't be on superscale yet. I think the youngest singaporean ever made a superscale (in the prestiges Admin Service) was this 32 year old. It was in the newspaper.

 

when i first start working i only got S$90 a month.
