This kind of thinking ('today' thinking) is sure to make one "pok"" easily... One must trade strictly with one's chart, with time-frame considerations, and not with a "cheong today" mentality...

Obviously you still didn't get the point... which is this:-
Money is be made by longing as well as shorting. Just buying (+holding), or just selling (shorting) will "pok!" you in no time.

seriously, did u win (overall) by shorting? |

People do have the choice not to go "pok!" (and it's so easy to go "pok!" with stocks).
By thinking that stocks will always go up, regardless of time-frame, they will staunchly remain in long positions indefinitely.
And this is the cause of them going "pok!", which includes so-called 'paper losses'
A loss is a loss... it is a loss in real terms... it is real!
There's really no such thing as a 'paper loss'.
haha u are wrong in one sense, who will choose to go pok???? just that some people become too greedy and never do enough homework. of course the market goes up and down, else how can pple make money? it is impt to make sure that you research enough to do the best bet with all the information you have.
iPunter ( Date: 17-Feb-2010 09:41) Posted:
Hindsight or not, is another matter...
But common sense will tell one that the market goes down as well as up ...
And this knowledge alone should be enough to prevent anyone from going "pok!".
But sadly, too many choose to go "pok!"... hehehe...
