Wonder why this burger is not moving up like the rest of the palm oil counter.  Inclusion in MSCI does not seem to add any positive value to this counter.  Fundamentally sound.  Perhaps discount to other counters because of its legacy.

GAR has fallen a few times already. The recent one being a fall to $0.85. How many times are needed to weed out weak holders?

Golden Agri-Resources faces less earnings downside than peers from a decline in palm oil prices as its production growth is accelerating, Nomura says in report. Expects FY08-10F CPO volume sales growth +8%-14% pa vs Malaysian peers' average of 4%. Raises FY08-09F CPO price forecasts 3%-9%, leading to 4%-11% increase in earnings forecasts. "Despite assuming a lower average CPO price for next year, we expect GAR's FY09F earnings to show some growth (albeit marginal), owing to its robust production expansion." Says stock's addition to MSCI Singapore index should improve its stock market standing. However, trims fair value to $1.10 from $1.13 on FY08-09F earnings revisions, rolling forward to FY09F EPS; keeps at Buy.

Looks like GAR has hit its strong support level of .89cents and now moving back up again.  Long term upward trend still intact.  Based on strong CPO prices and fundamentals: relatively low P/E ratio,  good profit margins, good company growth strategy and recent inclusion in MSCI;    Quite a laggard compared to the other palm oil counters. Upside potential should be quite good. Recent sell down probably to weed out weak holders?   Sell into strength for short term players. Vested.  Caveat Emptor.

Golden Agri fell on talks of fund selling. Traders were bewildered by the selling since other palm oil stocks were higher.

I don't think it is perculiar only to GAR.  GAR like a lot of other blue chips stocks; even those in the oil and gas sector are sold down because of the generally poor sentiment.  Inflation worries as a result of high oil prices may 'force' the FED to increase interest rates soon.  This will in turn have a negative impact on the already floundering economy which obviously translate negatively on stocks in general.

You can see how Golden Agri is struggling up despite being included into MSCI index. So I'm not very optimistic on this stock.

King Saudi agreed to yield extra hal mil brll of CO is already a good sign to boost the global stock market. hope other OPEC members give the same support.

CPO prices up.  Average CPO prices this quarter from March 08 to June 08 should be about 3300 to 3400, which means that 2nd quarter profits/results should be strong.

In addition with its recent inclusion into MSCI index, it is hard to understand why this fellow is moving down.

Only reason I can think off is the general poor sentiment for stocks because of fear of infation as a result of high crude oil prices..  Same thing happening to Wilmar and a lot of other counters.  My opinion:  downside from here should be limited.  Better to hold than to sell at a loss.  Caveat emptor.  Wish you luck whatever your decision is.

GAR came very close to my $0.90-$0.905 target. Should rise on Mon given surges in Dow Jones and CPO prices on Fri.

OCBC chartist said Golden Agri would test its high of $1.23. Well, it reached my target of $1.10 and fell. Maybe they should employ me Smiley The 200day MA around $0.90-$0.905 should hold.

Nostradamus      ( Date: 20-May-2008 23:03) Posted:

A break of the 100 day MA constituted a bullish move which should eventually push the price all the way to the lower band of the symmetrical triangle. It may rise to $1.10-$1.15. The 100 day MA will provide support. Full FA here.

Marginally break of 100day MA yesterday. Need another 1-2 days to confirm. If so, GAR will be in consolidation mode again.

I made a comparison of Wilmar and Golden Agri here. Pls check it out.
