I don't get it.. why is it falling so badly??
1QFY2012: http://swiber.listedcompany.com/newsroom/sw140512.pdf
" Swiber Holdings Limited reported Robust revenue as the Group successfully executes on its full suite of services, EPIC, offshore marine and subsea services, for the various contracts secured in 2010 and 2011 in South East Asia and South Asia regions.
Revenue rose 29.1% to US$194.4 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to US$150.6 million in the same corresponding period.
Gross profit surged 57.3% to US$38.4 million in 1QFY2012"

Regarding the confusion over the dividends issue. Let me clarify that swiber is earning money and not giving out dividends because they need the money to fund their projects especially the recent Big contracts. It's a new venture and swiber is a young company with good potential and healthy growth. From my point of view, I see it as a Wise move and not a folly one to be giving out money when they need it. Furthermore, they have proven in the past that if it is within their power, they would definitely not shortchange their investors - dividends.
more like big investors selling to short via CFD while others accumulating at what they feel is a good price. Price has still nice room for downside, based on stochaistics and ichimoku charts.

More on my Blog at Alex Trades.
Good luck.
Totally agreed.
long long time ago, the reason ppl buy share is to collect dividend.   Now they speculate, din even wait for dividend payout BUT share without dividend is just pure number in the screen then y bother to buy.
therefore dont ever enter a share without dividend unless ofcos u wanna prove tat u r ganho in ur technical analysis (which surprisingly wont work one lol).

Short selling is not impromptu. It takes days to plan out. Check my past thread in 30April i alrdy told ppl to exit latest by today n stay side next monday, of cos many know the reason now.
the situation is not rosy as what u hv mentioned, u can check Europe closing, Dow now, figures speak for themselves.   (good coy reports, ipo got nothing to do with stock mkt, as a speculators we just look at figures not reports)
you maybe a risk taker n earned big, where i m not a risk taker at all.   I dont hv to take risk becos we all know when to strike safely that all n we dont earned big we slaughter big.
take care for being a risk taker.....in stock mkt we should not take risk. we sell with confidence n know why, when, which, what to sell....cheers.

I'd suggest a hold till tomorrow. This company  definitely had a much higher profit this quarter.
It's seems to me more like you had a bad experience with this counter. If so, it's not anybody's fault.
Ok seriously, prices are affected by the people. Since the company is doing good. Why are you Forcing it down? Are you shorting this stock? touch your heart before you say anything. I know I didn't buy any share in this. I just feel mine is a more unbiased opinion. Is this company doing good? does it have a future? yes.
It's still young...hence there aren't any dividends. How many years has it been in the market? You got to give it time man. And i personally don't believe there are a large percentage of people who actually hold on long enough to receive " dividends" in this counter. It's for short term gains. kapish?

The charts do not and cannot show uptrend or downtrend.
The chart can only reflect what has already happened...

I don't know man. The charts are showing a uptrend. And revenue  announcement is tomorrow. Feel it's a time to strike? for short term gains. Dividends are not important for short term. Time to ride the train i feel.
Dividents from Swiber? Tan-kuku (Wait long long...)

A company can raise fund by way of right issue or private placement. Right issue involve paying fees to underwriter and also must be attractive to existing shareholders.
Risk involved is that it may not be fully taken up. The other way is to do a private placement usually up to 10% of shares by selling to willing buyer at discount.
So in effect private placement is taking money from you without asking your permission! When number of shares enlarged, the value of your shares will drop unless the company can make
more profits by the cash generated. Dividends will be less as it  will be shared among more shareholders.
So if a company keeps on doing private placement, you jolly well know what to do!
That's bad...

Read a article recently from a agent, it  is said that this lousy and facking company is still short of money despite of recent placement at 0.635$ if they still want to expend the fleet of ships.
