Posted on July 3, 2013, Wednesday
KUALA LUMPUR: Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) announced the appointment of Somsak Chayapong as chief executive officer of the Malaysian listed group.
He succeeds Datuk Ng Jui Sia who has been appointed chief executive officer, Non-Alcoholic Beverages of Fraser and Neave Ltd (F&NL) Singapore effective July 1.
Somsak was previously a managing director of F&N Dairies (Thailand) Ltd (F&N DT), who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand after he joined the organisation in 2006.
He comes with over 20 years of sales and marketing experience with the blue-chip Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) company, Nestle (Thai) Ltd.
Under Somsak’s leadership, F&N DT sales were at RM1 billion per year with a portfolio of quality, well-loved products and brands such as Bear Brand, Carnation, F&N Fruit Tree, F&N Tea Pot and F&N Magnolia.
He spearheaded F&N DT’s focus on research and product development and successfully steered the remarkable recovery of Rojana plant after the floods ahead of schedule and awarded by the Thai Food and Drug Administration for being the fastest to recover and its outstanding achievement in teamwork and strength.
In his new role, Ng is responsible for F&NL Group’s Non-Alcoholic Beverages division, with operations and investments across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indo-China.
Prior to this appointment, Ng was the chief executive officer of Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, with overall responsibility for the group’s food and beverage (F&B) business in Malaysia and Thailand.
Ng also served as the chief executive officer of Times Publishing Ltd, a subsidiary of F&NL, from 2006 to 2010 and headed F&N’s soft drinks division from 2000 to 2006, presiding over the division’s sterling growth.
The board of directors welcomed Somsak and is confident that he will leverage his wealth of experience in the F&B industry to lead and grow the business from strength to strength.

Good end with 625. Won't be surprised if open with 63... Buying interest is high.
If close at 63 is poise for 68-71 range and beyond..
Excited about the potential of this.
