Dr Tony Tan knew it from day one.  A Govt “blessing” could end up being, a kiss of political death.

That why...Dr Tony Tan  took pains to pre-emptively allay concerns regarding his independence,

He now want to be seen as independence of LKY for this EP election.

Even without the Govt’s tacit or express endorsement, the reality is...Dr Tony Tan is widely seen as the Govt’s preferred candidate. It is something he will have to grapple with going into the campaign. who he had been associated with  staunch support for 27 years as  PAP party cadre member to LKY.

Independence has become a prominent theme in the lead-up to the presidential election.

All three hopefuls have a PAP background.

Vote in a good, caring and humble person as your head of nation, the Honourable Excellency the President. Choice is obvious as many Singaporeans feel themselves or their politcal belief  as enclaved by the ruling party to the extent of bearing dislike to hatred of members of PAP.  This  can be understood from the recent election turnout at the political rallies.  Now though the three hopefuls were once PAP members, the main attraction to voters  will be good track records of humility with citizens and capability of unifying Singaporeans..

Sunday 26-06-2011. SPH

(Sundaytimes) headline published Dr Tony Tan will unify S'poreans, says PM Lee.

He spoke of it qualities but stopped short of explicitly endosing him as preferred choice.

In others word Dr TCB and Mr TKL  was not mentioned and that they  may not unify S'poreans.

teeth53 thot: it's a fair, biased comment by PM that  may back fire on Dr Tony Tan.  Where PM has forgotten about how elective citizen voters remain unhappy and still vote for PAP.

and now ESM Goh has had spoken....for Dr Tony Tan.

The medicine seems to be working........The internet universe now want a government form by a coalition of parties. No party will have a majority.  The reason being absolute power corrupt.

Something for all to think about, the advantages, the disadvantages. And you have alot of time to think about.......

时 事 造 英 雄 , she appeared at the right time when singaporeans are angy at being treated as second citizen in their own country(I wish someone will raise the problem of engaging illegal  staffs. believe me, in certain jobs, there are such). " count on me, singapore" I think the me has to be changed this day for this present society.

also she is young and sweet by nature--a break through in political history in Singapore(though lately there are some women PAP members are up to standard in image). Wonder if she is going to study further in Politic major. then she will be 才 貌 双 备 ..........well, hope she won't disappoint us if she really become one.

As for the voting, I suppose there are quite a lot anyhow vote for opposition even if that party was not good enough..........why, to show them every contituency didn't get handsome number of votes.

Capture one sentence PM said last night, " we will upgrade the estate even it's under Opposition party" . They come to know that they are not Singapore, but the people are. The people should be treated equally.

Pension for retiring (no more working) is 10% of an officer's annual salary.   This is the same as 10% of his monthly salary, man. 10 percent is alot of money also, just to shake legs.

Lets say, a minister draws 1.2million dollars a year, then his pension is $120,000 divided by 12 should be $10K per month. Wah!! Still chia buay liao.   On top of that if they write a book, see they still make millions without being in the cabinet.

Answer : No. They all would have retained their Ministerial Posts. Confirm and double confirm. It would have remained the same with the iron fisting and promised penance and repenting we'd be dealt with.

How? Did I answer correctly? Any prizes?  Smiley

Just ask them one simple question. Would they have revealed to us their desired retirement before GE2011 if the PAP won 65%+ votes? The Ministers could well have been reappointed and we the Citizens of Singapore would not have been any wiser, would we? Are they really that SINCERE?

2)DPM Wong retiring becos he let Mas Selamat going AWOL !! lol :P

  3) Raymond Lim retiring becos he messed up the transportation..allowing MRT station like Jur East Station to be a real life SADINE can factory during peak hours..now that they are opening up the new platform but not even opening in FULL...only during peaks hours..wat a joke...becos they claim other timing the old platform is still able to take the load...then wat the heck u build the new platform and close it during non-peak? partial white elephant ? At PM Lee's press conference he said 3 office bearers wanted out even before the Election 2011, i.e. DPM Wong (Home Affairs), Mah Bow Tan (MND) & Raymong Lim (Tpt) but he managed to talk them out to defer till now.

Aren't these MIWs  cowards? Knowing that they lives would be difficult  with  strong opposition like  Chen Show Mao coming to Parliament to question them, they decided to jump ship b4 everybody else.  Do u think they deserve the  $Million salary paid? and should they be asked to repay back to redempt miseries caused by their negligence or incompetence.
