With so much outcry about the servere air pollution in Beijing, it is highly likely that when the new leadership takes over officially in Mar or May that they will announce in their next 5 yrs direction that environmental protection and control will take centre stage along revival of economic growth. Water is a scarce resource and faith of good clean water supply needs to be restored.

Nestlé is making good money from China water pollution problem - http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2013-01-10/nestle-taps-china-water-thirst-as-west-spurns-plastic.html

'About 70 percent of China’s lakes and rivers have been polluted by industrial facilities such as power and chemical plants and paper and textile factories, according to the Worldwatch Institute, an environmental research group.
Availability of natural fresh water in China is just one quarter of the global average, and the north of China already faces a scarcity of water, the World Bank reports. In Shanghai, “almost all” surface water has been polluted and doesn’t meet drinking standards, according to the city’s Water Authority.
Purified water from treatment plants is often contaminated again en route to homes. About half of tap suppliers provide substandard water due to deteriorating pipes harboring contaminants, sediment and bacteria, according to China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Nestle highlights such concerns with television advertisements such as one for its Pure Life brand that shows children making faces after tasting water. One child pours his glass into a fish tank instead of drinking it, then his face lights up when his mother offers the Nestle brand instead.'

What I have not been able to establish is the technology used by HANKORE. Membrane is a popular technology but it seems HANKORE is using their own proprietary technonology which they are proud of. In fact, besides bringing in much needed funds, management expertise, operational discipline and government network, David also brought in his own technology when he mounted the take over of Bio-Treat.

Sharp observation ! Indeed it mentioned 'parties' and it also said 'financial advisor to evaluate its strategic options with respect to its water treatment assets (the “Potential Transactions”)' which means it may not necessary also evaluating the sales but also how best to realize the other possible strategic options. Looks like it is really interesting and what an anxiety to have to keep us waiting !

Most companies engaged independent financial adviser only after a bid has been offered. But Hankore does it the other way round. I wonder if it is due to offers from a few parties because Hankore mentioned " third parties" in the announcement???

In the meantime, let's see if the 20 days moving average will lend support to the up trend.

Actually if you look back at the last 1 mth, the drag has left many short term players high and dry as they ran out of time since they were not prepared to hold out. The price was relatively higher and steady and what's left are likely longer term investors and that is a healthy process. So give some is us time to accumulate slowly without making hasty decision.
