Genting Singapore Q3 EBITDA rises 20 pct to S$335 mln on year
SINGAPORE, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Genting Singapore PLC said its core earnings in the third quarter rose 20 percent from a year earlier, as both gaming and non-gaming businesses improved.
The company, which is controlled by Malaysia's Genting Bhd , said its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose to S$335 million from S$322 million in the previous quarter.
Gaming revenue climbed 15 percent on increased visits and new VIP business, and non-gaming revenue posted a 27 percent gain from a year earlier, the company said.
Genting Singapore is seriously pursuing opportunities in the region, while a tight local labour market and strong Singapore dollar are a challenge to the company's operations in the city-state, it added.
Genting Singapore's Resorts World Sentosa and Las Vegas Sands' Marina Bay Sands are the world's most profitable casinos, though tougher rules on gambling activities in Singapore and tepid growth in business from Chinese high-rollers are weighing on business.

There are a lot of stock TP is higher than what they should. Thats the stock market. Otherwise might as well ppl just buy stock base on the company earning and the TP will stay flat. Personal view is that it is moving upward & soon will stay between 1.50-1.60 in short term till the next phase..come from the qtrly earning result. Let's bet!!

Priced at 35-36x FY12 earnings, with flattish earnings expectation through FY13. It is the most expensive gaming stock in the world. Even Las Vegas is priced at 30x FY12 earnings w better growth outlook from its sands china. With rising cost due to workers permits & slowing tourist attraction, it better don't disappoint in its coming earnings. There is a lot of hope in it considering Macau gaming operators in their 20-30x and Las Vegas in its 20x this financial year earnings. It's only until next year mid b4 Japan gaming bidding starts if the Japanese pass the bill on 1st meeting without any debating which delay the outcome of this gaming legistration. Anyway, the rest of the global gaming stocks are moving up to catch up the valuation of genting sp. with so much competition w the more experience gaming giants, it's quite interesting to see how long genting can hold onto this premium valuation w the only revenues from its resort world. It's jus a thought. When we go ard the gaming industry, it's Macau strip that has more potential. Japan mayb? But that's provided genting wins the bid. Just a food for thought
