Beg to differ... MSCI added it to its  MSCI Singapore index within one month of its listing... Then it propelled the stock from 2.4+ to 2.6+

Btw way, DJ news merely broadcast news... the reports was issued by one of the brokerage house.

i,m somewhat doubtful that DJnews yesterday  is the driver for the change of trend which already occurred about 2 wks ago.

March's semi-annual review may be too soon for a counter with a trading history of less than 6mths. i think a more probable period it might be added to the STI would be in 2H2010.

Anyway, bbs are in play now.  Expecting to see a tug-of-war soon. I'm betting for CMA to UP!

As usual dyodd.

Below news is the reason for its progress UPWARDS?

02/03/2010 09:52 - 0151 GMT [Dow Jones] Cosco (F83.SG) may be dropped from STI while CapitaMalls Asia (JS8.SG) may be added in index's next semi-annual review in March; "this is the opposite of the review one year ago, where two real estate stocks were deleted and two consumer services added." Notes no changes in last review in September. Expects CapitaMalls Asia to be assigned weight of 0.65% on STI; Cosco's current weighting at 0.45%. STI made up of 30 companies with largest market cap on Singapore Exchange. FTSE ST Advisory Committee expected to unveil results of review around March 11, with any changes taking effect after market close on March 19. (FKH)

It looks there are some people hoping or thinking to buy CapMallsAsia (CMA) for its dividends.  If you are one of them (dividend investors looking for high payout), please do not bother to consider this counter.  Only investors looking for growth story may consider putting some money here. Of course, shortists are welcome to short as well.

For info, CMA is paying out a 1cent divy for last year to shareholders. It may be puny but bear in mind the IPO listed only at end-Nov 2009, so effectively shareholders are being paid 1 cent for a listing period of approx a month for FY2009 which i think is fair. Looking forward, my estimate is CMA should able to pay up to 6 cents for FY2010. But remember, CMA needs to retain cash to continue to grow so please don't expect big divy payout.
