Yes, why not? When the TDRs are listed in Taiwan, and if people want to make a market for it, it will help the counter here to move accordingly and vice versa. TDRs will create a "CLOB" for us overseas, and help super rich people to park their money on them, without being a shareholder of the company. They can request for the shares if they have other plans such as taking over company, etc.

Need your advice. How many lots must one buy this counter to retire? I only hope to make a few Ks if it goes up to 12 cents.

Seems like Depository Receipts are another instrument foreigners can invest their money indirectly in Singapore shares. Maptech has TDRs (Taiwan Depository Receipts) while Sinotel has ADRs. (American Depository Receipts). Wah, bodes well for both counters, hopefully.

No, dividends not possible at this stage, but the lesser number of sellers will be true since it is required that the TDRs (fixed deposit of the shares) must have the ordinary shares deposited with the bank.
Furthermore, the number of ordinary shares that make up one TDR is not fixed yet, so it could change and should this happen, it is going to be bad for shortists. Why? If the TDRs are traded higher in TDR-price, each ordinary share will command higher price.
So there are good chances for Maptech shares to appreciate.

Shorts will commence covering positions now. It is too dangerous for them. Two things are possible. One: with the strong profit announced recently, a good divident might be possible. Two: Good opportunity to catch the shortists "red-handed" since a large portion of the shares own by a big investor will be placed as TDRs leaving lesser sellers.
Just thinking only. Do your own homework.
