The talk is that Oriental Century, i think RE owns about 30%, has some serious trouble. However as i understand teh contribution from OC to RE's bottomline is quite minimal. then again wtih Chinese companies teh lack of transparency and red tape makes it tediously frustrating to get more information.
If not comfortable better cut loss, whats clear is that it wont be good news. |

Looks like it's been "fried up" (chao hei, or cha kee) ...
Luckily I dumped early enough, though I had respected this stock very much...
Because the image of a billion Chinese learning English is so very irresistable!. |

This super bullish stock is now performing dismally... beyond my expectation...
I had thought it will go up to the sky, in view of a billion Chinese people learning English...
Heard that the intake recently only produce double digits which may be normal as many of their foreign students are from China, vietnam, birma etc... They probably wanted to celebrate CNY before starting school.
Heard that the 2Q numbers should be better.... so counter still got hope
this counter also not spared despite strong earnings and revenue upside potential. can any of the masters here provide a TA for this counter? would like to seek some expertise.
Yes. upgrade yourself...but upgrading should be on going process....u wait till recession, is too late. but still is good to go for upgrading..
But time is bad..the last time my whole plant shut down for good..Agilent Technologies...heard opf this coy before....eveeryone out...whether Phd or MBA or???
Sometime it is a matter of age, not qualification...the older you are the harder for u to find a job.
That how i start out on my own...i am in hardware business.
Let say u are a Senior Manager and pay 9k..and u are 40..do u think u can get a job at 9k again, after retrenched??
At this time do you think other coy want to hire u at 9k...there are alot out there who are looking for job also...it is a employer market..
thanks for reply! Ya, I do notice this, cross the board.. all drop. Hope your prediction on March would crystalize. Unless it is another Informatic college, otherwise, education business should be able sustain even breakthrough new profit level during the bad economic time. When market is bad, I think the best thing to do is study and upgrade, get another cert or qualification prepare for economic rebounce!

unfortunately iPunter is right.
Without volume to oil the gears of TA, analysis will be difficult and inaccurate.

Da jie's TA machines are stalling and malfunctioning and incapacitated due to lack of volume ... hehehe...

Credit Suisse reiterates Outperform call, S$1.15 target price on Raffles Education (E6D.SG), says there is little read-through from New Oriental Education's (EDU) lowered guidance. Notes another China education play New Oriental Education lowered revenue guidance last week, largely due to companies cutting back on language training for employees. But says this does not mean Raffles Education facing problems as business model very different to New Oriental's, which is more volume sensitive. Adds Raffles Education's operations remain strong, parents' spending on children's' education fairly resilient to economic cycles, New Oriental's non-adult education businesses still performing well.
