Genting has accumulated a significant stake in UK rival Rank, British newspapers said yesterday. Rank, which owns the Grosvenor Casinochain, has been tipped as a takeover target since a recent profit warning hit its shares. A ban on smoking and the forced removal of lucrative slot machines had sparked a sharp decline in its bingo business, while a surprise hike in taxes had hit casino profits hard.

Media reports and analysts have linked a string of names to a possible offer for the firm, including Ladbrokes and US casino giant Harrah's Entertainment. The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times said that the stake comprised about 10% of Rank's shares, while the Mail on Sunday said that the stake was over 3%.

Is MCSI the same as STI??? Genting is already in STI.

As of 11/29,

• Stochastic crossed > 20%
• RSI is above 30%
• 11/29's closing price of $0.685 hit upper bollinger band
• MACD and Parabolic SAR shows sign of trend reversal
• 11/30's price hits a high of 0.725 at around 14:00

 

Possible Island reversal? Wait for it to break 0.71, then onwards to test 0.77.

 

Yah.... wondering what is the news.... Dunno will drop after 11th Dec or not... Still pondering whether to sell some and then buy back when it drops again... but wonder if it will drop as my most expensive holding is 0.705.

Any experts on TA for this share???? Any views as I am at the crossroad. I've been on this share for the last few months and so far it has never go beyond 0.74 since the rights issue and the TP is at 0.76.

 

External factors are uncertain , but this stock is skyrocketing today.

What is the underlying reason? Big new coming or pure speculation?

looking at the vol at midday 37 mil shares traded, further upside should surface..

Wow... good performance. Sudden surge to 0.72. Not sure if it is due to the inclusion in STI from next week?

But wonder if it is sustainable... wondering if I am the "jinx". I sold off 10 lots yesterday and then it went up today. Fortunately, I still got substantial holding in my beloved genting. I am a firm long term view supporter of this counter.

Now wondering if I should sell some and buy back again when price drops.... but greedy people scared once it move, there is no return. But remember US economy is still a concern for all.....
