You have to read the SGX posting. GZ facing the uncertainty of the loss during the recent winter storm (although they say is minor). Also most of its profit are on asset appreciation (non-cash) due to timber growth. It is trying to get approval from China authority to harvest them on a big scale. Another potential is its plan to harvest biofuel from its trees. Uncertainty remained until there is more news maybe within a month.

considering investing in this counter. low PE, high asset value, increasing earnings, positive outlook for industry and its forestry industry shouldnt be affected much by inflation in china. But then the price dropped by so much now. Anyone know why? any advise?

Guangzhao Industrial Forest Bio-Technology said it expects its earnings this year to be stronger than a year ago, thanks to sturdy growth in its main business of using poplar trees for pulp and timber. For FY06, the China-based forestry firm enjoyed a 25% jump in its net profit to $74.12m due mainly to fair value gains after accounting for sale costs while the sale of agricultural goods actually declined. But this year, the group will reap commercial value from growing poplar trees for pulp and timber, and will see contributions from selling tropical fruit plantlets to Malaysia and providing biofuel plantlets Jatrophas curcas. The poplar business was helped by an official endorsement for its newly developed salt-tolerant tree that can grow in saline conditions, which the group announced on 29/11. The endorsement comes from Shandong's Institute of Forestry and a renowned environmental biologist from Australia.

SGX-LISTED GUANGZHAO RECEIVES LANDMARK OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT FOR ITS REVOLUTIONARY SALTTOLERANT POPLAR WHICH CAN GROW IN SALINE CONDITIONS; EYES MASS CULTIVATION FOR REAFFORESTATION PROGRAMMES IN PRC

Group can now explore vast opportunities in the re-afforestation and rehabilitation of 1 billion mu (66.67 million hectares) of high saline and alkaline land in China

Salt-tolerant poplar impressed with its ability to grow well in high saline soils and reaches maturity 50% faster than other cultivars

Endorsement from renowned environment-biologist, Professor GD Farquhar, brings potential for Group to export its cutting-edge technology

Excerpts

Shanghai-based Guangzhao, which is listed on the Singapore Exchange Main Board, said the endorsement is of great importance as approximately 1.25 billion mu ([83.33 million] hectares) of the PRC?s land mass is covered in such saline conditions, thereby offering significant opportunities for the Group to offer its tissue-culture for re-afforestation, with the poplars having
commercial value for pulp or timber.

The Shandong Institute of Forestry concluded by recommending that the Salt-tolerant poplar was suitable for cultivation in the Huang Huai (?黄淮?) region ? between the Yellow and Huai rivers straddling the provinces of Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu and Henan.

Professor Farquhar FRS stated in a letter to the Institute dated 15 November 2007 that Guangzhao?s Salt-tolerant poplar held ?great promise for growth in coastal areas where soil salinities were higher? and it would be ?a valuable resource for reafforestation and rehabilitation of coastal areas? and inland areas subject to dryland salinity?. He also suggested application in other countries such as Australia could be explored.

The PRC currently has 1.25 billion mu (or 83.33 million hectares) of land that contains soil with high saline and alkaline content ? of which the Group has found that 1 billion mu (or 66.67 million hectares) is suitable for the cultivation of Salt-tolerant poplar. As it is also able to withstand wet conditions, Salt-tolerant poplar can be planted as part of a ?green belt? along the PRC?s 55-million mu (or 3.67 million hectares) of eastern coast to protect against the loss of life and property brought about by typhoons.

Excellent, more PRC government contracts and potential Australian government contracts on the way!

Hi

Judging from the hourly chart, if you want to see faster returns.... the fibonacci nearest resistance is at 0.315 and good support looks to be 0.27, if today can close abover 0.315, then theres a good chance of next resistance at 0.345. Stochastic look like a bit high... However, based on tonight report from US on housing start, and market vol being very very thin... i would be sidelined....

cheers

EastonBay...

Ues..i did initially said dec as 12 mth target...which u refutted that the 12 mths shld be from report date..

=>Thus i recalculated and 'tune' for ur pleasure...which conclude that sgx is even more overvalued..

which part did u not understand or remember...

If u cannot understood simple logic and maths...no use explaining more...

Worse by bringing ur unhappiness from sgx thread to all over the forum...it only showed so much...

Lets move on ok...and let the other readers decide for themselves....

I'm not so sure who is the person without common sense...

someone who said that a 12 month TP is on the calendar 12th month.. ie December always... now turned around to say otherwise. I rebutted u from the beginning saying it is 12 months from the release of report. U were the only who insisted it has to be December.. U need to go back to sgx thread to read and re-read and re-read what you wrote. And I am going to save my breath since i cannot knock any sense in you.

Hi EastonBay,Its common sense and usage that when 'percentage' calculation is used on a TP...it meant 'upside' to TP...

Im sorry, im english is so bad....that i have to rephrase myself again...(to someone without common sense?!?)

Btw...do u have to go into every single little grammer/vocab mistake people make....like u did last time in sgx???

And if u have to bring ur unhappiness over my truthful remarks and analysis on sgx...it only showed so much again....

And again....let me remind you that the12 mth calculation was suggested by you....i merely used it to suit you in yourur sgx calculation...so whos changing tune to suit who?!?

Well...if u think changing my nick makes u happy....go ahead...im not so petty over little things "p

solar, my argument is based purely on your original sentence.. "any counters that is less than 20% off TP is overvalued right now", and I counter argued based exactly on that sentence by using the eg quoted by u here.. .now u change it to "less than 20% upside" !!! Of course I understand what is 20% upside.. but that's not what you said earlier. LOL

and about the 12 months TP? Avoidance.

don't change tune to what suits you... and u don't go around changing other pple's nick.. hv some basic respect for other people.. how about changing your name to sudah2000? U like that?
