Hmmm.... this stock not on my radar because < $1

But Yes, I think sanye2006 and brandonharrist may be right that here's some potential in HTL right now. Very tight bands indicating sharp price movement soon.

But while there's a bias for upward movement, it cannot really be confirmed yet. Wait for another day or so to confirm.

Volumes have been increasing steadily over the past few days. Good sign too.

The chart looks good and the support looks strong at current level. I am looking for stronger accumulation and higher volume before considering an entry. On my radar screen definitely!

Will the TA experts like to comment on this counter? The chart looks interesting, Bollinger band very tight, looks like something is going to happen...

In any case,if u r getting high end furniture, yeah..make sure u've got a high maintenance chick that comes with the package! That way u could rely on coming home to a new furnished home each and every month. On that note...First, be prepared that u may have to start growing your nail on your pinky and stock up your wardrobe from PCKs',inc to get her attention and don't forget your yellow boots!..hehe naughty naughty

Another typical example of the CEO & management receives the education but the stockholders pay the tuition.

Smelling a breadth of fresh air at Domicil.
We sense that the wind of change may have started to take hold at Domicil. As a first step, HTL has now assigned a dedicated senior management executive to oversee the home furnishing business, rather than to leave it firmly in the hands of the semi-retired founder.

More importantly, we see this as a positive sign that management is finally recognizing the magnitude and urgency of the integration issues.

hahah I like the example: senerio of a contractor who similarly trys to be a designer.

Imagine some day PCK tell you he is the best architect designer in Singapore and some say in batam too!! =)

Hi HoneyB,

I am not commenting whether your point of view is correct or not. But I think you have introduced a valid but yet different school of thought here. Cheers

Here is just my thoughts about HTL. I thought they were doing great being just a manufacturer and should not dabble into something they are not capable of. Would be hilarious to see they at IMM..hehehe

HTL is both a tannery and a furniture wholesaler. I have no idea why they have invested in a german retailer Domicil. I was in Munich and happen to upon their showroom. They are no more other than any retailer shop that imports furniture from other established brands and mark up their prices. Similar to Space furniture here that imports from other brands. Space furniture seem to have more selections and is more edgy, trendy, avartgarde and modern. While Domicil has just the usual 'rigid and conservative' upholstered yesterday years' look contemporary furniture and casegoods. To me Ikea, BMW and Christofle is a brand but how is Domicil a brand?Being just a manufacturer in sofa for wholesale is so much different from business retailer of high end llifestyle concept store. How is HTL going to stand up to the challenge of managing a high end lifestyle concept store? I could just see the common local senerio of a contractor who similarly trys to be a designer. Would HTL be still getting its sale support from retailers of various countries, after knowing that they too have a share of the retail pie?Should HTL stamp in to replace the present sofa suppliers for Domicil, how would that affect the image of Domicil and exsisting vendors. What would the clients of Domicil be thinking? Are they getting the real deal or just copies from asia that they have to pay tru their noses.? I can strongly feel Domicil would be dumpin high losses for HTL. The more losses and high expenses incurred on Domicil would just make HTL look more attractive. Isn't that ironic? There is a saying I hear too often..Be wise with 'new' money.

hi hi,

got the below report...seems good potential for next yr if any of you is interested...

Our play of the week will be HTL International.

Launch of Domicil Trade Showroom in mid Nov: Prominently showcased at the Domicil Trade Showroom is Domicil?s latest brainchild ? Domicil Living Room Concept. Management revealed their intention to bring the concept to the IMM International Furniture Trade Fair in Jan 07. At the same time, we understand that HTL will spare no efforts to expand its presence in Europe and Japan.

HTL share price took a beating after the release of a less than satisfactory 3Q06 results: 3Q06 net profit dipped 11.0% yoy to S$11.7 mil, despite recording revenue growth of 9.0% to S$165.0 mil. The subdued performance was mainly attributed to the operating losses incurred by the Home Furnishing Business Unit (BU). Without considering the operating losses of the Home Furnishing BU, the fundamentals of the core business remained strong. For 9M06, the net profit margin of the Core Business was 9.8%, compared to 8.4% of the corresponding period in 2005.

Key stakeholders are stepping up on their acquisition of shares: The investment vehicle of the Phua family directors purchased a total of 1.2 mil shares in the open market on last Fri, raising its total interest in HTL to 41.55%. This in turn lifted the deemed interest of each of the 3 Phua directors to 45.67%.

Keeping our BUY call, despite downward revision of forecasts: In view of the longer than expected gestation period for its Home Furnishing BU for the year-to-date and the ?cautiously optimistic? guidance given by the management, we have trimmed our topline numbers for both FY06 and FY07 by 4.5% and 2.3% respectively.

Reiterate our BUY call on HTL with a revised fair value of S$1.50: With FY06 nearing an end, we roll forward our fair value estimate based on 10x forward PER and FY07 EPS to derive a fair value of S$1.50. We believe that the long-term fundamentals of the company remain intact.
