Btw, SC Global is "Simon Cheong" Global .... in case you are unaware. :P
Yup, Simon is known as the 'Deal Maker' in the market .... OHL is riding on his company to make good money because SC Global is strictly into niche prime properties.
Simon doesn't need OHL in the first place, but I guess the latter's regional influence somehow help to spike SC Global shares further. Its a win-win situation for both.
There is still Simon Cheong and bright prospect for niche property.
Mr Oei exited already. He offloaded ENTIRE stake... 9.82 mil shares at $2.6. He bought them around 18mths ago and turned in a profit of $13.4mil or 110%. With Mr Oei - one super big boy leaving the counter, wonder where SC Global will be heading? Can it hold on with its own 2 feet?
can someone help to assist me to read this counter chart? i would like to know what price to enter this counter. what is the support level?
This signals the firm's first move into the Chinese property market.
SC Global and a unit of Malaysia's Lion Group, will jointly develop a residential-cum-retail project in Shenyang city, the capital of Liaoning province of China.
SC Developments' wholly-owned subsidiary SCGD (China) Pte Ltd and Viroy Management Services Sdn Bhd have formed a 60:40 jv company -- Kairong Developments (Shenyang) Co Ltd -- that will develop two adjoining land parcels into two residential projects.
The land will be acquired for 246 mln yuan. The total development has a potential aggregate gross floor area of up to 2.3 mln square feet and is expected to yield about 2,000 homes and retail areas totaling some 340,000 square feet when completed in the next two to three years. SC Developments said that the residential units are expected to be launched in May next year.
anyone has any view about this counter?
DBSV has upgraded its target price to $3.19 from $1.95 previously, as it sees SC Global as a prime beneficiary of the prevailing robust demand for high-end residential properties here.
"The Singapore property market continues to be driven by the high-end residential segment. Being a proxy to this segment, we expect SC Global to be a prime beneficiary," DBSV said in a note to clients.
DBSV expects SC Global's residential projects in Cairnhill and Paterson near the Orchard Road shopping belt to fetch a higher average selling price of $2,336 per square foot compared to its previous estimate of $1,900.
On a roadshow currently.
Any comments on the medium term outlook?
Seems S.C. has taken astute steps to make this counter more liquid and accessible to others. In addition to rasing cash for future developement.
Legg Mason (8m shares) is the 3rd largest holder with a 5.22%, after Oei Hong Leong's diluted 6.78% stake.
Legg Mason is a substantial shareholder. Earlier this month, SC Global sold to 24m new shares for $1.95 through a placement. It was well-received by other institutional investors. It is believed other international fund managers also took up stakes. Oei Hong Leong also has a 8% stake (9.59m). He paid $1.23 apiece and is sitting on a windfall.
The revival of interest in the upmarket segment of the property market helped the postitive response. SC Global has about 800,000 sq ft of gross floor area which can be developed in the prime Orchard Road area. It is also set to launch the developments Cairnhill Circle and Paterson Hill next year.
Not too sure if this news is positive or negative. On the one hand the NAV will be increased from $1.57 to $1.63. On the other hand, it has a dilution effect and has exerted some pressure on existing shares. Don't know how the market will react? Expect a light sell down in the light of the latest placement price just like the case of Longcheer.
It will sell up to 24m new shares for $1.95 through a placement to be handled by UOBKH, the company said. The net proceeds of $46.3m will be used for proposed investments and working capital, it said.
Sudden rise today. Dr Choo Yeow Ming, a minority shareholder, has divested a substantial amount through the market today.
