Wait til confirmation that cosco will / will not be out of STI component index first.

If it is out, it may drop further more..............

Sometimes it is not about it is sitting on the edge of 200SMA , cycling within the symmetrical triangle or what.. :)

It got to come with news, Volume trend , How it gaps -> Candlesticks and some other more relevant parameters. But this is only my view and my own way of trading style using my own system.

As mentioned, I will be analysis this stock very soon at my blog http://star-trader.blogspot.com  but unfortunately, I have problem on getting my data feeds yesterday which I am trying to rectify now. Thus will only be able to analysis days after Monday Session which will be the weekly analysis next week.

Thanks,Star-Trader

will be interesting to see how Cosco perform on Mon as last fri it is sitting on the edge of 200sma....macd cutting dwn zero.. it is cycling within the symmetrical triangle(hence can breakout up or dwn). if dwn on mon support at 1.18 ...if break below this dwntrend likely start as below 200sma.... my 2 cts view...nt vested

Nomura said, Cosco might be kicked out from STI index, replaced by CapitaAsiaMall...

and with more orders delayed, it is not a good sign for Cosco, where is those glory days at $8 ++ , a lah , just another s-chip counter..

Nowadays almost all of the analyst is full of personal interest and money minded, I suppose.

Not to worry...all analyst are just guessing .....if they are sport on, then they better quit their jobs and play the market.

Whenever stocks drop, they will say it's going lower.

When go up, the analyst will say it will go higher.

A good guage will be when insiders buy their stocks.

You are confusing the parent company with Cosco Singapore. Cosco SG is a ship builder. It is not a container shipping company.

China will rise in the long run, so Cosco being one of the biggest in China should benefit in the long run....Go to PSA side and see the containers.. All coscos...

Hi,

Have CIMB-GK sold their cosco share ?? Based on the Cosco website, there are still numbers of investment securities still hold on to their shares. (last date March 09)

These securities may issue a sell call and set their tp price as low of $0.67 yet they probably still hold on to their share holdings....

Unless these securities have sold their cosco shares, then we will follow their analyst report.... Can you check with them?

Kim Eng Research - Cosco Corp posted FY09 net earnings of S$110.1m, down 64% y-o-y, which were in line with our net profit forecast of S$109.9m. However, this belied the fact that numbers were boosted by non-operational gains, while operating earnings itself were somewhat worse than our expectations especially on the shipyard business. Shipping retained decent margins, but turnover was down sharply. We see no near term positive catalysts for the stock, and maintain our Sell call to a target of S$0.81...

CIMB-GK Research - 4Q09 net profit of S$17.6m (+174% yoy) was 48% below our estimate and 55% below consensus. Negative surprises came from higher-than-expected costs. Management cites spiralling opex as the main reason. FY09 reported net profit of S$110.1m (-64% yoy) formed 87% of our full-year number. Management guides for profitability in FY10 on the back of reduced costs per vessel and improved overheads as the group moves up the learning curve. We keep our EPS forecasts for FY10-11 and introduce FY12 numbers. Our target price of S$0.67 is unchanged, still based on sum-of-the-parts valuation. We see de-rating catalysts from weaker-than-expected margins and the potential for more order deferrals and cancellations. While risks for more order deferrals and cancellations have eased, we note that Cosco has not secured any new build contracts. Also, margins remain weak. Valuations of 21x CY10 P/E are unjustified against Chinese peers (9x) and more established Singapore rig builders (12x), we believe. Management declared a final 3 Sct dividend...

Situation now is not much worse off as compared to 3Q, so the current price has already factored in the bleak outlook. We can see strong support at $1.22 - $1.24 range so with some faith and good news (like any new orders coming in), this former darling will rise...
