You said this stock is undervalued based on the amount of contracts. I think this is a wrong perception of a stock. Did you notice the liabilities in the balance sheets? All the IOUs, interests payment and depreciation added together left shareholders with nothing because they cant afford to give. Further more the amount of shares placement to raise money only dilute the valued of the existing shareholders. Even if they want to give a dividend, so many sharing the cake and only peanuts is expected!

From the last 2 years ++... even when they announce large contract wins, the price tends to ride upwards.... then gradually trend down later. One major peeve against this company is that they never have paid any dividents despite boasting about record level contract wins, etc. Bosses si beh ngiau!

I have faith in this counter. Let it mature with some time and you'll see. My faith is based on good ground.
The share will only move when property market picks up, and shortsellers start to buy back just like what DBS did to cover its shorts.  Some of you might think that DBS borrowed the shares for fun, but you will be wrong to think so.

It is too naive to blame the market for destroying itself! The growth or death of a company all lies in the hand of the leader and his team. Just like a country, the stability of a country lies in its leadership. The mass market are made up of smart and dumb herds. To be smart you have to sense danger and change course before being destroyed. In a bullish market, no amount of shorting can change the course of the market!

This share is overly undervalued. The market has destroyed itself and we have to pity those who got the shares above $2 few years back. Shorts are really laughing to their banks for eternity. |

Hotokee, from 2009 till now, DBS would have made between $800K to $500K shorting this bugger.  Can check up on the prices they shorted. But guess they shot it between slightly below $2.00 and $1.80 and returning the shares after having bought back 597 lots at around 56 cents.
This kind of trading is outside the bank's core business and what do you or anyone  say to that? To me, it is not right to take this risk to make money. Yeah BBs can make this kine of money, but agreed, it is still a risk.
Since DBS has returned the shares, it meant bot back the shares.  No longer short. So Swiber should be ready to move up.  Don't forget to buy since it is cheap. Though not certain if other institutions shorting this counter and still blocking its rise. Buy at your own risk.
why are you so pessimistic with this word "
You think ordinary players can make money?"

There many branches of knowledge as to how shares are priced by the market. One is the PE methods you mentioned which is used to calculate current ratio or perspective ratio.   This is not an accurate mechanism and is just a tool by large investors to justify themselves for buying or selling the share at the pe price. It is just elementary in nature.   The view is always different on hindsight when a price remains there for a few sessions or changed afterwards.   A good example of its inaccuracy is the price of most IPOs.   After a day of trading their PEs changed either higher or lower and seldom remain within small percentages, e.g from 5 to 10 or 10 to 50 etc depending on how the Big Players want.
The price is undervalued because DBS shorted the bugger and held the shorts for very long only to have bought back, probably recently to return to the directors. Here is a snip of one sgx announcement on 5th June 2012.
" In connection with the convertible bonds offering as announced by Swiber Holdings Limited on 16 October 2009, Mr Goh had entered into a share lending agreement with DBS Bank Ltd dated 26 August 2009. DBS Bank Ltd, as borrower, returned 597,000 shares to Mr Goh, as lender, pursuant to the terms of the share lending agreement. "
Very simple.   If DBS or any bank or big institutions shorted the shares, it definitely cannot rise but depressed until too undervalue.   I believe most shares in Sg market are shorted by banks, hedge funds and brokerages.   You think ordinary players can make money?
Not vested at all in Swiber, but just giving some views. Good luck to shareholders, but think deep when you want to invest in shares in Singapore.
