The technical doesn't look good. Lots of selling to buyers at 0.60. Care to comment on the long term chart? It seems to me it had reached the top end of the parabolic curve. It can come down real hard based on this pattern.

ThaiBev is looking into diversiting out the F& N property arm (as shown in newspaper week ago).

Once its happen, the investor  may profit from the sale....

And its share price may shoot up.

quite worried, just 9 days before restructure deadline but the stk behave weakly always at close, high open and low closing is usually bad sign... insider BB is selling?? Not sure what will happen on 20th. ?? Unless of course the insiders is told to leave the mkt to avoid accusation of manipulation. The Thai boss is very secretive and tight in info leak.

ThaiBev: elephant in the boom (Financial Times)

Take four-fifths of the spirits market in a large and growing economy. Add a decent soft drinks business and a strong distribution network to what is already one of the top five spirits producers in the world by sales volume – and you have the new, improved Thai Beverage. The takeover of Fraser and Neave by ThaiBev’s controlling shareholder has officially closed. Now to see what ThaiBev gets from it.

Since Thai billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi launched his bid for Singapore’s F& N in September through TCC, his private vehicle, ThaiBev’s shares have rallied by two-thirds. The first question is how he will split the group. Assuming Mr Charoen wants F& N’s property portfolio for TCC, the tidiest solution for the drinks unit would be for ThaiBev to sell its 29 per cent in F& N to the company and use the funds to purchase the drinks business for, say, the S$2.7bn that Kirin wanted to pay for it. That leaves ThaiBev S$1.2bn to pay down the debt it took on to buy the stake.

Assuming that happens, the next question is what the F& N unit brings to one of the most profitable drinks businesses in the world. ThaiBev’s 80 per cent of the spirits market in Thailand means the division’s operating margin of 20 per cent beats Diageo’s in the region, according to CIMB, although some is lost covering for losses at Chang (elephant) beer. Still, synergies with F& N look genuine. F& N’s soft drinks can be sold into Thailand, whose population is double that of its current market of Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. And F& N’s heft outside Thailand should be able to boost Chang sales.

The most entertaining synergy would be if ThaiBev’s newly expanded reach could lift support for Everton, its Chang-sponsored UK premiership football team, currently ranked sixth. But some deal effects really are too hard to quantify.

Thai economy to grow over 4% in 2013

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said today he believed the Thai economy to grow at more than four per cent this year. Many agencies lowered this years growth forecast thanks to volatile global economy.

The government has to work hard to push the Thai economy to expand over four per cent and he is confident the target can be achieved, Mr Kittiratt said. This year, the government will focus on boosting the private investment to offset the delayed government investment on the water management project after the court ruled that public hearing must be conducted first.

Moreover, the government will promote tourism and service sectors, which are growing well.Meanwhile, Dr Thanawat Polvichai, Director of Center for Economic and Business Forecasting of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce said Thai GDP forecast this year is revised down to 4.3 per cent from five per cent due to domestic consumption slowdown, concern over rising debts and political situation as well as volatile global economy.Exports are likely to grow only four per cent lower than the commerce ministry's target at seven per cent.

Moreover, the multi-billion water management projects have been delayed due to a legal problem, so the sum of the government's 60-70 billion baht investment expected to stimulate the economy in the third quarter will be also postponed. The Thai economy will however be supported by tourism with about 25 million tourists expected to visit Thailand or about 12 per cent growth.Thanawat said the Thai economy will be bottomed out in the third quarter and the global economy will gradually rebound in the fourth quarter. The Thai economy is likely to grow 4.5 per cent in the fourth quarter and at least five per cent next year.
