Dear Fellowship.....I like to share a joke I received from a friend :  Begging

Subject: FW: JOKE FOR THE DAY : Who Can You get for S$3.1 million To Run A country....?

Some points to ponder

FACT 1: Singapore President new pay revision from current S $2,551 700 to S$3,187 100

FACT 2: Singapore Prime Minister new pay revision from current S$2,464 000 to S$3,091 200

FACT 3: Singapore Senior Minister new pay revision from current S$2,680 600 to S$3,091 200

FACT 4: Singapore Minister Mentor new pay revision from current S$2,656 600 to S$3,043 300

Well, for just a single Prime Minister pay at US$2million  (apprxiamate S$3.1million), who can you get to run a country like SINGAPORE....?

We can get US President Mr George Bush + UK's Prime Minister Mr Tony Blair + Japan's PM Abe Shinzo + Australia Prime Minister Mr John Howard + Hong Kong's Chief Executive Mr Donald Tsang. Then we can throw in Leaders from Asean nations like, Malaysia, Russia and also Thailand and we will still have a savings of US$163,000. How come nobody mention this in the parliamentary debate on new pay package

> >> USA President's pay : US$ 400,000

> >> Britian Prime Minister's pay : US$ 360,000

> >> Japan Prime Minister's pay : US$ 300,000

> >> Australia Prime Minister's pay : US$ 200,000

> >> Hong Kong Chief Executive's pay : US$ 420,000

> >> Malaysia Prime Minister's pay : US$ 65,000

> >> Russia Prime Minister's pay : US$ 60,000

> >> Thailand Prime Minister's pay : US$ 32,000

> >>

> >> Total : US$1,837,000

> >> ============================================

> >> Savings : US$163,000

MORAL OF THE STORY : Smiley   Jabba the Hut

SINGAPORE SCORED ANOTHER 1ST AWARD :

WE ARE A LEADER IN PAYING TOP DOLLARS FOR ITS PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS IN THE GLOBAL WORLD. SHOULDN'T WE START HEADHUNTING FOR ALL THESE WORLD LEADERS INSTEAD OF LOOKING INWARD TO RECRUIT OUR EXPENSIVE LOCALS AND SAVE OUR NATION'S TAXPAYERS MONEY?

AFTERALL SINGAPORE WELCOMES FOREIGN TALENT TO WORK AND LIVE HERE.

actually I drink like fish too... and many of my friends know I cannot resist one.. particularly Lau Hor.. and must have a good pint of guiness (to be taken in dublin),

btw, are suggesting you are secretly  "catwoman" perhaps this explains your liking of alcohol... hmm..

Australia is a country of cats and dogs.I think more dogs and cats than humans.

Every evening when i do my walking, surely get chased by dogs. Some huge ones ok.

That is why have to carry stick or something like that.

Hi Tanglinboy & all,

sorry for this late reply. was away without a comp these few days.

Looking back at the postings, i definitely benefitted from the "Elf" teachings. Its what makes this place so special, the free education one can get. Smiley

Anyway, the First World incident is true. My colleague went for a short holiday with her friends and family. But they only booked one room, so they decided to bring down the mattress onto the floor so as to create more sleeping space. No prizes for guessing what they say. Totally freaked out man! Anyway, because of this 'sighting' , they got upgraded to Highlands Hotel and also were given RM1000 in casino chips each, plus a complimentary card which gained free access anywhere in Genting.

I read somewhere that alot more effort is needed to get a cat to respond to you than for a dog. Dogs seem to respond positively if you have a treat in your hand. Cats though remain dis-interested. But don't take it from me, for i never had any pets. Smiley (Mum just did not approve...)

I can agree that cats can just be as attached to an owner as dogs.

It is really only a matter of building the bond.

If a dog or cat is raised from young in close relationship with the owner/s, the resulting bond can be great.

This puts dogs and cats in the same league - man's friends.

Hi YongJiu,

Are you a cat owner? You seem to know a lot about the feline species.

I have a nice little terrier for a pet dog.
