Cannot use 1 margin 1 CFD?

Ok good idea will keep that in mind.

Any of you guys do hedging against your own positions? My MF Global broker does not allow me to open 2 accounts. I need one account to long, and another account to short.

Looks like no choice, tonight have to go down to IG markets to open another CFD account.

Ok STI found support at 3187 points.

Depends on your trading plan.

Ok got to go research on IG markets. Anyone here has a account with them? Good service and features?

hmmmm I don't do hedging, but i have a suggestion.....

check out city index and cmc....

city index is because it has the lowest commission(i think); $10 flat rate regardless of trade size.

cmc because they don't have finance charges on short positions.

That is what Intraday trading is all about.

Just keep in mind the commission you have to pay. Normally the price fluctuation should be at least 2 cents so you can make a profit and cover commission. If only 1 cent, after commission, you make only peanuts.

bladez87      ( Date: 25-Oct-2010 16:05) Posted:

really should learn to sell 1 cent below resistance and buy 1 cent above support. haha this intra day movement can really earn some pocket money

Singapore palm plays gain;DBS Ups CPO price forecast

WRITTEN BY DOW JONES & CO, INC

Plantation stocks seeing good gains; Golden Agri (E5H.SG) +3.8% at $0.685, Indofood Agri (5JS.SG) +5.1% at $2.70, Kencana Agri (F9M.SG) +2.4% at $0.420, First Resources (EB5.SG) +4.0% at $1.29, Wilmar (F34.SG) +1.1% at $6.47.

DBS, which rates First Resources, Indofood at Buy, Kencana at Hold, raises 2010-12 CPO price estimates by 2%-11% on revised USD forecasts; “in view of weaker USD over the next few years and an absence of U.S. Fed rate hike until 3Q11, we have now shifted soybean, soybean oil, and palm oil price movements one notch above previous levels”.

Expects steeper-than-usual drop in FFB (fresh fruit bunch) yields, potential delays in South American soybean planting (due to strengthening La Nina) to boost 1Q11 prices, while rising biofuel mandates, higher substitute demand may push soy oil prices higher in 1H11, should also support CPO. Cuts Wilmar to Hold on reduced processing margin forecasts.

China and Hong Kong are also up at the moment. I am going to expect global bullish sentiments to last till at least end of this year, especially if QE2 goes through in early November.

America is having her mid-term elections in November, so I expect Obama and his administration to push for good news such as QE2 so as to gain popularity votes from the voters.

Once QE2 goes through, expect Asia to be flooded with liquidity. Not sure if it is good in the long term, some say printing more and more money is just pushing the problem away till a later date until it becomes a bigger problem in the future.

But as traders... well.. as long as we can profit in the short-term, we can deal with longer term problems when it comes. So lets enjoy the good times while it still lasts  Smiley

Not high class restaurant but probably not kopitiam either. I will think of something.

Some profit taking taking place, STI slight down turning. Europe and Dow futures are up, so I don't think we will get heavy profit-taking.

on! but kindly remember there are poorer people around like me T_T who might not be able to go to the high class restaurants you might be planning for.

Tell you what, after genting 3rd quarter results, allow me to organize a dinner gathering for all the members in this gentingSp forum.

Its time for us to have a face to face meeting yes? We can also have some spontaneous meetings over weekends after that and we can discuss stock movements or macro-economics over a nice beer or red wine.

What say you? On or not on?  haha...  Smiley
