ahhh!! singaporegal, so cute!! :)))) i dunno whether to hug you or your doggie. hehe. :P baseerahmed, aft my A levels i did an internship in fund mgmt. got the chance to sit beside the BBs live and watch how the trade. Honestly, they don't look at as many techs as i do now (since they set the trends, we just follow), but yea, the 'inside stories', you realise after a while, are always the same. like rachmaninov, or chopin. variations on a theme. so what i do is to follow the patterns on tech, and deduce which inside story it is likely to be. that's abt all. 'cos if you do it by logic (rather than seeing what you want to see), then, there can only be that many conclusions to one tech pic. Of course, sometimes it isn't easy, but that's why i track my basket of counters, and keep very close watch on them. i write down everything abt my stocks: why i buy them, what induced me to (tech, not 'it's gonna go up!), why i sell. and most importantly, what lesson i learn from my mistakes. for stocks i'm not buying, i have all their TA records, and my predictions of their movements. Then every week i check back to see if my predictions are right. Helps two ways: to see if i'm right, to see if the indicators are sensitive enough. TA. hehe. i'm self taught, basically. never read a book or whatever. just put your money on the table and learn. fastest way. keke. this forum's helped me a lot tho. like singaporegal, ipunter, kilroy, sporeguy, etcetc. I've learnt from all of them. so thanks yea, you guys. :))))

Sorry I didn't see your post on the 15 April. This forum now moves so fast that I find it really difficult to keep track! Now I have to do a search on my nick in order to find out if someone's asking for me.

as for the pan jinlian thing, relax, peeps. elf was just playing with her kitten. hehe. you see, kitties get bored very easily. they like challenges. they aren't as simple as they appear to be. offer them security they'd be gone in a whiff. Boredom kills them. By lelonging him off at times, and at times patting the kittie, he never knows where he stands with me, he only knows my affection has to be earned. so he's always cautious/interested. that's how you incentivise a kitten. muah haha. play on, little pet? :P

 

yea eastonbay. elf would like to know more abt you too leh. Obviously someone cultured, been around, erudite, but fun loving beneath the veneer of traditional caution you wear.

ok, my stocks are doing nicely but i'm getting too much of a headache from the market. too exciting. haha. i need a slower pace. be careful of overheating, people. when aunties and uncles start to rush to buy, that's your cue to exit. leave some on the table for others. You don't havta take it all. Measure risk and reward very, very carefully, especially now. Rather a live chicken than a dead tiger. haha.

 

victorian: wow! just simply beautiful ... felt like listening to a lecture by an eminent professor at the university... i am busily taking notes...scribble..scribble... elfinchilde : err .... pardon me if this sounds rude .... for not being articulate enough to put it in any other way .. err .. i always wanted to ask this....where did u learn all these TA and " inside stories".... if u don't mind ? ..

I am past 50years old.Having monopausal problems leh.Sometimes having problem sleeping and so pop in to the broadband and entertain myself.Hahahaha. 

I am flexible,can sleep anytime and anywhere.In front of TV,listening to music can also fall asleep.

When reading long posting can also fall asleep.

Geojam: will tell you when you buy me beer in August. Meanwhile, keep in suspense (to make you fulfil your promise lah..I won't forget your prata and currypuff). Actually I also meant to ask you if your wife makes noise as you spend quite a bit of time in front of the PC... posts in the day... sometimes 1am in the morning etc? Just curious.

I can undersatand the short posting u did on 18/4 at 2:14 am.

B4 i start,i like to stress that i am now take a very low key apporach to shares investments since 2004.I am now a maintainer of wealth rather than a builder of wealth.What i post refers to my good days.

Also,the tax system in australia is rather complex.It took me many years with an accountant's background to link margin loan and how to avoid tax(not evade).To this date i am sure not many ppl in australia knows as much.So on surface it is 10% but after tax deduction it is about 6%

I normally have a very detailed cash flow system which i devised myself .It is like over a period of 10 years.I put in my forecast divvy,forecast px, etc...so to answer ur qn----if the share have potential to grow and its initial ROI is break even,ie 6%,it is ok.But say after 5 years its can ROI of 160%,it is worth the wait.

I was once a Venture Capitalists,so patience is the name of the game.Many tips are always flowing around and shares are snap up b4 IPO.I am no longer active cos i am happy now and enjoy that my risk taking days are over.

When i invest back then i expect at least 20% ROI..Now i am happy with 12%hahaha.What a diff.

But in spore i play differently as my fire power is small.But now i have elf and urself,maybe my thinking may change that is why i am thinking of shipping more money over.Still thinking.

Any way I guess for anyone who is gonna define pan jinlian in modern day, they might think she is some brave woman who knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. She does not give a damn who might think about her or what she's doing!!!
