Some players are shorting SGX since 9am

Know abit, only know that position will need to be closed on same day.. but action is still too fast for me to enter.

BullishTempo      ( Date: 26-Oct-2010 09:14) Posted:

Oh yes definitely. Are you familiar with shorting?

I will provide a link here on parabolic curves. You might have observed SGX opening at $9, and then shooting up to $9.41 in about 6 minutes. I was watching my Intraday chart, so I noted the time. My chart also showed me a very sharp parabolic curve shooting up. A 40 cents bull run in 6 minutes will definitely result in a sharp sell-off and profit taking. So once you notice a down turning of the parabolic curve, you can begin to short. At the same time set your trailing stop loss, so once the price has reached a low and bouncing up, the system will automatically buy back for you and cover your short.

Good observation  Smiley

Yes we make money from society and give some back as a form of our appreciation for the blessed life that we have. Give thanks each morning for our good health, loving family, great friends, shelter over our head and no worries about money.

The more grateful you are for the blessings in your life, the more blessings will come to you. Keep it going roland !  Smiley

Hi BT, with regards to yesterday movement on SGX... wouldn't it advisable to do a short sell when at high, since it was no point in chasing the uptrend(nearing the end) and do a buy entry near end of day?

Did anyone trade this way? can money be made this way too?

Singapore shares may rise on Tuesday, helped by gains on Wall Street overnight as a falling dollar prompted investors to pick up riskier assets. Singapore’s benchmark Straits Times Index <.FTSTI> rose 0.27% on Monday to 3,182.08 points. Here are some stocks and factors to watch, according to Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg:

Singapore-listed Chinese shipbuilding firm Yangzijiang (YAZG.SI) may be in focus after it said its third quarter net profit rose 32% to 730.4 million yuan ($142 million) from 554.2 million yuan a year ago. Its revenue climbed 19% to 3.08 billion yuan as it delivered double the number of vessels in the July-September period versus a year earlier.

Australia’s influential Greens Party said on Tuesday it had strong concerns about Singapore Exchange’s (SGXL.SI) $10.7 billion takeover of Australia’s ASX (ASX.AX) and said it might oppose the deal in parliament.

Wing Tai’s (WTHS.SI) July-September net profit fell 35% to $30.2 million from $46.3 million a year earlier, due mainly to a 52% drop in revenue to $131 million.

Rubber firm GMG Global (GMGG.SI) reported third quarter net profit of $16.4 million ($12.65 million), reversing a loss of $371,696 a year ago, helped by higher selling prices for rubber.

Property developer MCL Land (MCRS.SI) said its July-September net profit plunged 91% to US$8.8 million ($11.4 million) from US$96.4 million a year earlier, as its revenue fell 83% to US$46.6 million.

Frasers Centrepoint Trust (FCRT.SI) said its fourth quarter net property income rose 26% to $22.2 million from $17.6 million a year ago, on the back of new asset acquisitions. Its distribution per unit was up 5.9% at 2.16 cents in the July-September period.

OKP Holdings (OKP SP): The Singapore-based road builder said third-quarter net income climbed 13% to $4.5 million from a year earlier. OKP was unchanged at 56.5 cents.

SembCorp Marine (SMM SP): The world’s second-biggest builder of oil rigs was given a “buy” rating in a new coverage by BNP Paribas. The brokerage has a share-price estimate of $5.58. The stock climbed 1.7% to $4.71.

Many blessings to you too IceTomato !

Ok STI is flat as expected, a little bit bearish. GSP looking nice and stable, some resistance at 2.26 and 2.27, 5 million each. No strong support yet.

Wow abit-loss and CBClow, thank you for your kindness and love to these little children !!!  I thank you on the children's behalf !!  The love and money you give out will come back to you many many folds. This is the law of attraction.

One of my dreams is to set up a charity fund for needy people, especially the sick children. Once I hit my first million in cash, I will start work on this. I am getting there, so wish me luck guys!

LoL, thank you for your love and donation to the little children! Yes, we can all do our small part to make this world a better and more beautiful place yes? I make it a point to donate 10% of my profits away. The 10% of profits can go to parents and charitable organisations.

70% - Parents

30% - Charitable organizations.

That is how I split up m 10% donation. Our parents work very hard to raise us up, so we should take care of parents first. And then the remaining donate to the needy people around you. Can also be your relatives, friends or even your religious organization.

Keep the ball rolling guys and gals, make the world a better place !
