And as mentioned before last Friday, usualy for consolidation (reverse spilt) the price tends to fall right after the consolidation.  Whether it will go up or not later depends of the percieved potential of the company and of course the BBs.

Siwomp      ( Date: 23-Sep-2013 14:15) Posted:

34.55 billion new shares for $774millions, = $0.0224 per new shares

Consolidation (or reverse split) 17:1 = $0.0224 x 17 = $0.3808 per share after consolidation

Current Mkt Price per share = $0.066, after consolidation $0.066 x 17 = $1.122

so if you buy  at $0.066 and after consolidation price falls below $1.122, you lose.

Why the different between the $0.0224 (agreed price between the current and new owners) and the mkt price of $0.066? = Potential

Potential:

1) current share owners gets all the capital reduction $ before the issue of new shares

2) 2 additional land parcel under discussion

3) Current 7 parcel of lands are values at > RM2.7billions

4) Potential of significant returns (profits) when the properties are developed.

Therefore the mkt estimation of the current potential of the company  is (in a sense)

=> $0.066 - $0.0224 = $0.0436

Yes, this case may be differnt... much will depends on the BBs. and the Owners.  if they time the consolidations with a big announcement (positive)... share prices can move significantly up

I think that depends on the purpose of the reverse splits..... But usually you are right..... This case maybe different

And it seems that looking at the premium paid by the mkt for Albedo, investors are thinking that Rowsley is relatively underpriced.

imho

Bigmama      ( Date: 23-Sep-2013 14:27) Posted:

Agree and thanks for clarifying!. 0.0436 is the premium paid by market for the potential.

What i understand frm the announcement. Propose new 35bil shares at 0.0224 to fund the acquisition. No cash involved n a rto. So now it up to the market to determine the share price or how much it worth considering its future prospects if deal succeeded. Shares consolidation is to make the share price value higher to comply wif min price 0.2 as required fr new share issuance. After consolidation, share price increased but number of shares reduced. Tis is a mega deal n as said is up to market to assess its value and prospects ie iskandar. I think retailers still confused wif tis deal.

star,

u only lose out if the consolidation of 17 shares into 1 is less than $1.12. Its still steady because, the company did not say they are going to consolidate into $0.38. Its not concrete yet as in which price they are going to consolidate into.

your advice on Albedo plse..Albedo ..every 17 shares will be consolidated into one new share at 38.08cts...is my way of computing below correct?

normally consolidation investors lose out..typically.....Is this the way to calculate say we buy at $0.066@17lots based on current market price which works out to $1.122 verses $0.38 sori my calculation may be wrong your views plse..like that those who buy at current price sure lose but why the market price still steady at $0.066-0.067

This is insane with the RTO agreement.

With the sheer huge amount of shares, it will be better to scale down your open positions.
