SINGAPORE: Golden Agri-Resources said its second quarter net
profit fell 65 per cent on year to US$55.1 million, on lower revenue
from crude palm oil prices.
Revenue was US$566 million, down 31 per cent from a year ago.
However, this was a near six-fold increase over the first quarter's net profit of US$9 million.
The world's second-biggest palm oil producer said the higher quarter on
quarter numbers indicate a strong recovery in production of palm
products and continued recovery in CPO prices.
Moving forward, the firm said its strategic priorities are centred on
scaling up its upstream and downstream business, increasing its
production and driving cost efficiencies. - 938LIVE/vm

my view is that since their cash is eaten as much as they are generating, shall sell, then buy at low......

- Stronger Revenue by 37%, more-than-double EBITDA and six-times Net Profit1in 2Q 2009 compared to the previous quarter
- Strong increase in 2Q 2009 palm products production by 30% compared to 1Q 2009 and 15% compared to 2Q 2008
- CPO price is robust and expected to be sustainable with the coming high demand season and low inventory in Malaysia

GAR seems to be having cash issue despite the rights issue. Loan to be repaid within 1 year is so much more than the cash they have.
Cash is decreasing at an alarming rate...
