the actual cash burn-rate is abt US$10-12m per Q as mentioned in the briefing so US$65m can last for abt 5Qs

Just run through the financial report for 2Q and noted 15 mil of trade receivables as well as high burn rate for R & D, G & A as well as S & M. While 65 mil seem a lot but can only last max 2Q for overheads.

Once upon a time in a village,

A man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for Rs10.

The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at Rs10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.

He further announced that he would now buy at Rs20.

This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.

The offer rate increased to Rs25 and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at Rs50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers.

Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected.

I will sell them to you at Rs35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell it to him for Rs50.'

The villagers squeezed up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!! !

Welcome to the 'Stock' Market  !!!!

At the briefing after they attained CE approval, management did mentioned that they will only be cashflow positive sometime in 2009(can't recall exact qtr). I do not know whether anything has changed since.

The bad news I suspect has already been discounted. Wat I would be interested in is the execution of their strategy going forward. No point making motherhood statements like taking 10% share of the DES market. Just look at CREATIVE!!! Mp3 war against Apple and they end up looking like a banana skin n slipping into the realms of the unknown. Haiz!!Listen in on the company's guidance before doing anything rash.

history of biosensor pattern is this....

they usually run-up before the results announcement, after they announce, people sell down.. in other words, history tell us today it will run up and tomorrow people sell down.... but, don't know lei... today seems like a RED day for STI.. ha ha..

I hope this time, they are reversing, tomorrow a big cheong after the results ? so exciting man..

The Q result should be in the red still. Do not hope too much. Should be around 7-10m USD. JWMS deal never come through how to be positive? Most important we need to see there is revenue increase in biomatrix sales. Hopefully we can see good  Terumo royalty and  JWMS(50%) contribution to the bottomline.

If after results annoucnced, and on good news BIG refuses to move up towards the 50 cents level, I say sell every dam BIG shares you have and sell it down to below 10 cents. OK?

I think the best thing to do is to wait on the side lines. I think a lot of the upcoming news have already been factored into the price liao.
