Of all. (FOOD). In China after all those happening......Jilin Province. (teeth tot: can't even control their own people's problem, let alone we can do it). I mean the moral of this and such stories behind it. Let see they are strict in their proper control like us...isit. i has my doubt. Singapore Food Industries looks into setting up pig farm in China The feasibility study will be completed within the next six to 12 months. The plan is to have the pig farm and pork-processing facilities within a food zone. Singapore's National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan says Singapore will invest in the project and provide its expertise in food safety in the joint partnership with the Jilin government. Mr Mah said, "The long-term objective is to provide supply of food, not just for local consumption, and export to Singapore, which is in line with the overall objective of ensuring food security in Singapore." |

This current CEO is working hard,, i quite like CEO like this. From a long term point of view from a businessman, this is a good buy as it can create some form of synergy and fortify itself as a market leader...
Anyway spending half of the cash hoard for stable earning in SFI with it defence contract.. Retail investor are usually slow to realise, until anaylst write up to promote it.. $1.40 is a good buy still with 350 million of cash hoard inside..
It is like in a monopoly situation, if the size is big and can create economic of scale in buying raw food.. Which are the competitor that can compete with it current business model in singapore. (Temasek own SIA, SIA own SATS, Temasek sell SFI to SATs, transfering asset to sons cause Temasek need CASH to buy banks still hee hee) SATS is the sons who got strong cash hoard now.
What SATS need now is management buying the stock to reasure confidence after the takeover... To show the confidence they have in SATS..
Invested in this price range.. Still consider historical low after 10 years of listing.
Trading halt lifted. Trading will resume at 9am this morning. Will be interesting to see how market response to the take over bid of SFI.

Based on the information below, it is suppose to be good for SATs. Any comments.

This counter is not star performer. After 10 years of listing price still remain below IPO. But the business model is ok, not many caterers know how to do airline catering. Sort of a monopoly situation, with not many competitors in sight. Not high margin business will not attract alot of sharks coming in as competitors. From other point of view, they have a hard times trying to paint a sexy picture to the investor.
Most of the speculative counters, always have a sexy stories with huge potiential business to be done around the world, but tyre always punture cause the management cannot execute the plan.
Look recently at jade, straits asia paint a beautiful picture to analyst. Coal price shoot to the roof, our profit margin is the best business to be in 8 mths ago. Now all punture. jade is worst havnt dig coal punture. No investors question physically how difficult it is to dig and transport large amount of coals in a short period of time.
I guess buying stocks is dun chase after dreamy scenarios always tend to burst some how or another.
When recession starts alot of airlines will reduce their flying schedule and airport will not be as busy.
All these will affect SATS earnings.
Thats the reason for the pull down in SATS price and the recently resignation of Mr Goh, their ex-CFO sure got something to do with this.
See today analysis report got 10M in fortis credit link notes. But Cash equivalent at 700m still strong.
Walau, when the crisis started on fortis, they keep quiet man (10M is considerate inmaterial in SATS terms).
Lucky the euro government rescued fortis, if not can say bye bye to 10Mil. Timely disclosure for bad news sure come slow lor.

Why a sudden drop to $1.50? Profit taking??? My guess is that Monday it will be up as there is a sudden drop from $1.57 to $1.50. Let's see whether I'm right as the company is going to announce its dividend on the 3 Nov.
