In europcronline.com, it was reported that Medtronics is acquiring a company called 'Ventor Technologies' for US$325m, whose product is in Aortic Transcather Valve, and the product is currently only under clinical investigation in Europe.

At the same time it is also paying US$700m as inital payment to buy over Corevalve - another company also involved in Heart Valves, whose prduct got CE mark in 2007.

Although, there is no direct correlation with Biosensors, it is heartening to see that there are acquisitions being made, even in these times of crisis, and with quite good values, even without any commercial product in hand.

Of note, also ,is that the licensee of Biosensors, Xtent is currently trading at over 0.50 cents right now, when its share price was at 0.23 cents (the price has doubled), when it put itself up for sale in late Jan 2009.

Again, above are just for info, Not a call to buy/sell.

The technical picture still looks impressive - with mkts crashing everywhere, the recent low for the stock is 'only' 0.35.

The trend channel mentioned by Trader88 still looks intact, and the resistance at 0.39 does not look so formidable now.

However, the resistance is still valid, until it is taken out.

In this volatile mkt, Not a call to buy/sell.

Just have to hang on to it .... juz 1 month away before BIG will be in FY10 ....  I dun want to miss any run-up as BIG is now turning around .... Previously i miss StarHub ... now i will die die hold on .....

Anyway, there isn't any much counter across SGX that can bring much hope like BIG or moving in a positive trend ....

Cheers. Not an inducement to trade.

I was just listening to a video on crtonline.org titled ' New Des Platform, where Dr. Alexandre Abizaid was being intereviewed. He was one of the first pioneer doctors who did the first Cypher DES clinical trial, back in in early 2002-2003 era.

He said that he truly believed that the 'next generation DES' would be in the area of bio-degradable polymers. He quoted the latest J&J new clinical trial (the Nevo DES), which is using the Conors Stent, biodegradable polymer, the same Sirolimus drug, as currently in the Cypher stent, as well the the new company Labcoat, which is being bought over by Boston Scientific, which specialises in biodegradable polymers.

There may be a NEW underlying trend taking place in the DES world, where the emphasis would be on biodegradable polymers, and this is being given prominence by 2 events :

1)     More iminent Interventional cardiologists like Patrick Seruys, Antonio Columbo, Eberhad Grube, and Alxeandre Abizaid are talking about this new trend, and believing that it works. (The Leaders trial would probably take some credit for this).

2)   2 major companies - J&J has started on clinical trials using biodegradable polymer, and now Boston Scientific has bought over a biodegradable polymer company.

IF this trend becomes more distinct, then it will BENEFIT Biosensors, as they are the leaders in this area, and they are the only one with a commercial product using this technology.

On top of that, they own 50 % of JWMS, which also uses the biodegradable polymer, with the Sirolimus drug on their Excel DES.

If J&J nevo DES is a success, I think that it will benefit Biosensors, as well as JWMS.

The other major players like Abbot and Medtronics, will have no choice, but to follow suit.

Not a call to buy/sell.

Of cos hold liao la .... as wat OCBC just mentioned:

"Biosensors reported a US$200k profit before tax for 3Q09 signalling a possible faster turnaround into the black the next quarter instead of 1Q10. "

So BIG next quarter which is the final 4th Qtr of FY09 could well end up in the black .... and even better if FY09 can sum up in black too ..... For the total  9 months period, BIG reported a net loss of US1.5 mil only (this is not a sky figure) .... So there maybe a chance that BIG may turn into black in this FY09 closing by means of any extraordinary gains (forex, more cost being saved from the shutting down of overseas plant and improve in better local factory utilisation rate) .... by then BIG price will be even more exciting.....

As we expressed our view here, BIG is getting closer to his BIG day.... (1 month away for BIG to closed full FY09 result in March and then it move fast and agressive into FY10 1st Qtr - the exciting phase of BIG)

Barring any unforseen circumstances, i will place my bets to open "BIG" .... hahaha .....

Cheers.

Above not an inducement to trade.

I choose option 2...dun wan to miss the run-up (if there is any) just for the sake of trading for 2-3c profit if i din manage to buy back lower.

Note : This is not a buy/sell call.

Hi, like to hear your point of view on these:

1) currently BIG is trading at .38, should sell into strength (.385/.39) and wait for pull back to buy again at .365/.37 (swing trading?)

OR

2) But (accumulate) when it break thru it's current resistent level .39 and find support there?
