SYDNEY, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Australian junior oil and gas explorer, Tap Oil Ltd. (TAP.AX: Quote, Profile , Research), said on Monday that Singapore Petroleum Co. Ltd. (SPCS.SI: Quote, Profile , Research) (SPC) had acquired a 4.7 percent stake in the company, sending its shares up more than 10 percent.

Perth-based Tap said in a statement that the Singapore-listed oil and gas refiner had acquired approximately 7.3 million shares through nominee holders.

"Tap will be seeking discussions with SPC as to its intentions with respect of this shareholding," the company said.

Shares in Tap, which have fallen about 33.5 percent from a year earlier to Friday's close of A$1.51, jumped about 11 percent in early trade.

 

just got back this morning .... see how addicted I am.. straight away looked at SJ...

re my buying of warrants.. no it is just that I have not learnt to let go... and then got fooled into buying some more when it when down...but I felt that SPC is value for money and ppl should see this... so I refused to be cowed by thos bb who are toying with us to let go.. but I am psychologically prepared to lose all... so whatever I get is now gain... of course it would be very good if it touch 4.7

btw, I agree it can drop abit, but it can also go up, because it is still good for divvy play...

 

I think SPC will open weaker today--26/2/07.

 

chinkiasu, I have no advise for you on your 800 warrants because I do not understand warrants. But I do wish for what you and Giantlow and everyone have been wishing for.....$4.70!



I AM OPTIMISTIC!

 

After a day of gain on this counter, everyone becomes so pessimistic. Even Giantlow thinks that this counter will drop to $4.50 today. I am thinking that this counter will gap up today, $4.60-$4.68 range. Or at least we are close to $4.70 this week.



My plane is leaving in 3 hours time. Would not be able to see this counter with all of you for a week or two. Wish all of you HUAT AH!

i got a nagging feeling that SPC will correct to about 4.50 on Monday. thats not good news for me, but it might be a window of opportunity for more pple to enter. yum seng man!

"Divident thinking" is what causes most people to hold onto some stocks even when it is falling and falling. As a result, they lose big over a long period of time.

But on the other hand, if these same people have the tenacity to hang on for years, they would have reaped much in dividends as well as  stock price profits.

Each person will benefit most in a style that suits his/her happiness style.

u are holding on to 800lots of SPC warrants ah??? i chicken out a bit and release half my holdings at 1.5cents. now left about 300 plus lots

 

hi chinkiasu , really admire your guts for holding that warrant. At a point of time it was 1/2 cents only, then it bounced back strongly last fri, was a great relief.. 

The TA looking good, unless the BBs deliberately suppress the price next week.

 

Just to boost everyone morale . ML did have a buy call @ $5.8 , 22 Feb due to the SPC increased E&P activities in the region, now in Australia and further in Indonesia.

The E&P activities have significiant influence on SPC profits, due to much higher profits. i did a calculation based on oyong production output at 7500 boe. If the numbers materialized, SPC EPS will be back to 2005 level, which is 0.78.

Not forgetting too, the refinery margin have bottomed up and going a uptrend based on the opec latest monthly report (15 feb)

So i believe ML call is reasonable one.

At the end of the day,how much wealth one has will decide which league one belongs to.

yes Idesa168, I too really hope the stock will close at 4.70 on 3rd March becoz I too have been foolish to have some 800 lots of the warrant...  i have now learn to be very careful with warrant play...

Thanks for your confirmation. Im no TA expert, so I play safe by waiting for it to clear the 4.48 resistance with healthy volume.

Im vested @ 4.56 too. I want that dividend! Haha
