lookcc....lots of other counters to short if you want to....try not to do it on SPC lah....likely limited gain...plus. generally speaking, oil is inversely proportional to the broad market. (ie, market goes up, oil is down. oil up, market down.) So a bit counterintuitive to short SPC leh...its quite costly too....

[15:29 US TECHS: Commodities Outlook; Gold and Oil] Boston, February 27.

With memories of the Feb 20 sell off in mind in [gold], traders are not too alarmed with today"s approximate $10 break.  Yesterday noted the less aggressive breakout in the Gold Stocks Index (HUI), and weakness there has left prices back inside the triangle that was bullishly broken out of last week.  The $672-73 Apr zone shows up as major daily support in futures, and also a key weekly level, so expect a reaction should prices drop that far.  By all appearances, the gold market is still making its way towards $700 despite the occasional big decline.
The decline in [oil] today is keeping it from confirming a breakout move, with Trend Intensity never bullishly triggered on the way up.  Weakness also keeps monthly bear trends in place into March.  Weekly resistance at $62.70-63.40 Apr remains a formidable barrier to get past, and as noted yesterday, the broad $62-64 area shows up currently as major resistance on several sets of futures charts.  Keep in mind the major support zone at $56.50-58.50 in the event of a bigger break.  With the bearish monthly trend in mind, Elliott wave counts depict recent highs as a fourth wave correction up that points to further downside risk. Joel.Marver@thomson.com

Daily chart still bullish despite today's bearish candlestick.  Probably most people selling today are the ones that ran out of patience for SPC to go any higher. I dunno just a hunch.  4.70 is the next resistance follow by 5.00. Still vested.

Hi Billlec,

Sorry to hear about your loss. My warrant expires on 23 April 07 I think so I still have time. Actually I seldom buy warrants. I had a bad experience once.

iPunter,

For me, high dividend and low valuation is the best combination. But not to worry, I will protect my capital - Warren Buffett's rule of thumb.

Well.. looks like SPC continue to defy expectations and head north!
