Is Biosensors a good buy?

For Info. Just found out a bit more about the Nobori Clinical Trial for te Japanese mkt.

The clinical trial is a randomised 335 patients trial of 200 patients using the Nobori DES vs 135 patients using the Cypher DES (3:2 randomisation), with the primary endpoint being TVF at 9 mths. - Info taken from  an article in the May 2008 EuroPCR event.

Also, in Terumo's Sept 2008 results (Q2 09), they state that the enrollment in the Japan Nobori clinical trial was completed.

Putting 2 and 2 together - most probably the trial was completed on or before Sept 2008, and the 9 mths results should be ready by June 2009.

Data consolidation, etc may mean result ready for publishing by Aug-OCT 2009, and Japan FDA approval subsequently.

 

I agree - It takes at least a year to see whether the product is accepted by the mkt, although it looks like they are seeing qtr-on-qtr growth, with the last qtr growing by 36 %.

The more important events going forward that will cement this growth that we are seeing will be DEs sales in France (mgmt has not yet mentioned that it has started), as well as getting approval to mkt in China, as well as the 'dark horse', which is approval to mkt in Japan.

Regarding China, a US$400m mkt, a  5 - 10 % share (which is by no means impossible) will translate to a revenue of US$20m - US$40m, with gross margin of 65-70%.

The dark horse is Japan - so far very little mentioned by the mgmt, although, my impression is that clinical trials were started by Terumo in July 2007 (see Terumo's slides presentation somewhere in Aug 2007).

Taking July 2007 as the starting point, it takes 6-9 mths to get the total cohort of patients, which means that we are getting nearer to the 1 yr clinical test results, that are normally needed for such tests.

NOte - All assumptions above are pure conjectures - DO not use them to buy/sell Biosensors. For info only.

 

 

Encouraging result but do look out for next quarter. It will give you an indication of how fast BIG's DES is growing. You'll need more than one quarter to ascertain growth trajectory and whether it is sustainable. So far management has done a decent job on strategy execution. They say what they were going to do and stick to the script.

BIG has seen its worst from a low of about 23cts...the weak or no holding power already out..too risky to short no meat left ....can hold for long term if of course U don't need the $$$

True, this is a BBs' game. Make sure to take some money on the table first before it is gone.

 

Glad to see that it's still at 40cts despite the recent market sell down. Volume also went up recently for BIG but must beware not to be played into BBs hands this time round 

 

This is a good counter to play...

When everybody becomes too bullish, it pays to be cautious.

If you draw the trend channel, the upper end of the channel coincides with the 200 day mva at around the 0.45 cents level. Also, the 0.46 level was the low on 7th Oct 2008, which was subsequently broken.

I would be happy if Biosensors can reach this area between 0.44 - 0.48, before consolidating.

Having said that, there is no denying that the upward trend is still intact, until proven otherwise, and I would only feel uncomfortable if the stock close below 0.35. (At this moment, it looks unlikely, but never say never.)

Not a call to buy OR Sell.

 

 

Should be a neverlook back kind of trend liao...... Tried so many time to break 40Cts but only today break with a highest high closing...

 

Will hug those 29Cts for good and buy in some to trade......

There are 2 gaps at 0.535 and 0.615 waiting to be filled .... hopefullyf BIG can cover it fast ...... then HUAT liao lor ..... Seem like the bet is opening "BIG" .....
