Thanks Livermore. I'm glad I asked about the rates. I should look at the source you recommend.

Hi,

I am glad to note there are some who are asking about margin trading. You can get better interest rate than 7%. Try RHB share margin financing at 4.5%. I saw this at the back of the monthly share book. Call 1800 3230100 or go to www.rhbbank.com.sg.

Frankly I was not sure when I would get a margin call until I read Geojam's post. I seldom get a margin call but I did get one during the recent market crash. Unfortunately the share I had to let go was ASL Marine:(. I just keep track of my borrowing amount and my buy limit.

Frankly at 4.5% or 6%, the difference is negligible.

oooooo.....i think i need to set the record striaght here , least newbies and those who just recently joined get a wrong view/impression or expectation of me.

i do not deserve to be put along side with the Super-Stars of SJ.

at the most , i feel , my humble contributions (if it is at all , it's worth less than one indonesian rupiah ) would have been asking some TA questions.

though my questions were genuine ( i did not know therefore i asked ) at the back of mind of my mind were the newbies like me when I asked those questions . i am sure it is quite natural for newcomers and newbies to be shy to ask question least they be laughed at ..." to ask or not to ask ... they are experts leh ... how to ask mah ?.. " not only did i benefit from the answers but i am sure a lot of newbies and newcomers would have also benefited by the questions and the expert's answers.

.....other than that if i knew answers to common queries of general nature ... and if i happen to see it ...i will just drop a few lines.....at least give the newbies some assurance that their questions were answered.....

other than that i have not done any deeds of merit like power-packed elfinchilde, singaporegal , victorian ...& a lot (too many to name ) of well meaning forummers whose insights and tips on making real money ....$$$......now they are the real Super Stars to watch......so , i am not even a speck of dust ....hahaha ...!

I realised that when someone sneezes, another person may say "bless you" . There is no sprinkling of water.

Besides, only the priest or monk does the sprinkling of "holy water".

geojam, Frankly I don't. I keep a margin account in case I run out of $$ so I won't have to sell off the good counter. Touch wood - I have not encountered the need. I have to be very careful as I am in my twilight years ( and my husband too). I am the one in charge of the trading, the in and out. I am not very good at TAs or FAs. So I look to you SH forumers. Thanks to you all.

geojam, I need to know what rate brokerage companies charge for margin loans. Poems charges 7% and I feel it is too high. I have a margin account but I have not borrowed for margin trading  yet. What is your advice, please.
