i think forget for a minute the target price.
1. consider the business model: Oceanus is acquiring farms, building new rearing tanks for abalones ----from 20K tanks at start of 2009, the company will hv 40K tanks. In short, hell of a lot of abalones.
2. Oceanus gonna process the ablaones. Now building its own processing plant. Processed abalones will mean higher profit margins.
3. Oceanus has started on its JV with Ah Yat --- gonna have hundreds of outlets selling abalone meals at $8.50 each. Think of McDonald's. The entire business will be very scalable. Lots of ablaones being reared, lots of outlets to produce abalone meals in China.
This is fantastic potential. If Oceanus executes its vision well, this stock will exceed 44 cents easily. Maybe hit $1.00.

no offence but seriously TP of 0.44 to me doesn't make any sense...yestd px is 0.185..thats a big jump..

westcomb initiated coverage with a 'compelling buy' recommendation. target 44 cents.
this one Abalone can have good upside... earning is good.. also they had insurance coverage..
Oceanus today at 14.5 cents, very low. But even substantial shareholder cannot tahan bad market sentiment and cut holding.

interesting to read that Oceanus going to target the middle-income masses in China thru an unusual way.
i read in www.nextinsight.com.sg they are going to have a fast-food chain selling abalone burgers.

Daiwa starts Oceanus at Buy, sets $0.535 price target. Broker says China-based abalone farmer offers rapid, visible earnings growth, strong strategic position, attractive valuation; notes stock trades on FY09 P/E of only 3.5X. Says abalone is a "prestige" food in China, used to display status; "we believe that Chinese demand will rise as the national economy expands." Adds biggest risk is execution risk as company increases number of tanks it operates with second biggest risk being disease hitting its abalone stock.

A foreign broker had initiated coverage today on Oceanus with a buy call and a tp of $0.535.
Oceanus rose on talks that a research report will be released soon.
seemed like the price is yet touching the upper limit,once got stimulated, the shiok habit is there....guess likely the uptrend to continue
