yes the TA looks good. Improving fundamentals are underpinned by the commodity cycle and the strength of the australian dollar.

Hi shweli,

IMO, it has more to do with BBs playing, there is no denying tat mkts are also played by BBs,

thus why, it is important to master the skill to detect such fakes in TA, thus why I posted this

chart to alert forumers of such fakes and not to be swayed and panic but to wait for confirmation

of reversal patterns n divergences. But of course, final trading decision to is up to them, as I always say, dyodd

as we are answerable for our own actions, cannot blame others for any losses as nobody is answerable for our own actions.

Eg of "play punk" candles besides such thing as "play-punk" volume, dun be tricked just by looking at the closing candle and volume, must know wat actually transpired during the trading hours.

Hi pilotfish,

I beg to differ, halting trading is not peculiar only to Midas, as SGX listing requirements,

listed companies must halt trading when there is any pending announcements.

If the halt is pending good announcements, it is good, in any case Midas has very good FA,

but of course, I dun fall in love with stocks, any moment I see any reversal sign in TA, I will not hesistate to exit.

Hi richtan

For Midas, it would halt trading as and when it like. Quite obvious .... Just my view

For STI, tredious to look at each component stock.

Intraday chart for STI:

Ausgroup, quite ok so far...

Just my view... Smiley

Hi pilotfish,

Yes, I do know tat volume at close is the norm used but I still also pay attention to intraday volume as a gauge of the strength, eg if during the day, the volume keeps increasing with the price but towards the close, the price starts to drop, it tells me tat there is fake pushing of the price down, a  trap to create a false impression of down volume, thus why there is such thing as fake candle and such thing as divergence.

To an experienced trader, we monitor the dynamics of the mkt such as the intraday volume to better understand the strength during the trading day n decipher any "play punk" eg look at STI, was up the whole day but during the last 2 hours was being pushed down to almost flat but near closing was being pushed up again.

Hi richtan, Volume during trading is not so critical. Have to confirm after trading day.

US indexex already showed sign of weaknesses.

Hi tedlim_me,

Many thanks for answering on my behalf.

So sorry as I was out from 3 pm and just back.

Btw, Sheweli, u can also do a google/yahoo/msn search on any TA terms tat u dun understand, eg "Trailing Stops"  and u will find a wealth of info on the net.

The invention of internet is a real marvelous thing, producing a wealth of info which many years ago we could never imagined possible. Now, everything is within the search n click of a mouse.

Still remember, b4 the invention of internet, I had to daily plot the daily OHLC price of the stock I monitor n search TA books for any terms tat I dun understand. Life is easier now, I really wished I was born late to enjoy all this technological advance.

Hi pilotfish,

Congrats to your profit-taking.

Nothing wrong to take profit as long as u are satisfied.

But for me, I always remember by heart n abide by my 3 golden mantras, one of which is:

"Let profits ride with trailing stops n cut-losses short" - reason being, we need to maximise our profits to

cover all those lossing trades n yet make net profits.
