iPunter,
Yes, I would agree the SPC prices would likely remain stagnant.
Check out Victorian's post for the "value" counters.
There is also a new IPO coming out.
Livermore,
why are my comments unusual?

guys...be abit patience can or not? wait till 27th Apr then see lah...ayo....
Whether new oil is found or not...
Whether the counter is going to go up because of this,
Or in spite of this,
Or down...
Is only of academic interest at best...
What is important is 'whither the trend?'
And play according to the price action itself,
Coupled with a defensive set of practices.
Hi Giantlow,
Pardon me for saying so but your comments on SPC is a bit unusual
Concerning warrants, options and such...
These too are neither evil tools nor good ones...
they are just plain tools.
The facility of leverage must also be used correctly.
Wah... even SPC volume very low today
Dear Giantlow, you said "there are currently many other counters that give better risk/return ratios compared to SPC". In this current shaky market, I doubt.. I think the downside for SPC (this company is making money! PE @8!) is pretty limited (you would agree it is stagnant anyway) and particularly with the divvy in May, SPC is definately a defensive stock; the other one is STE and I am vested there too, although I consider that riskier.
ipunter, sorry. I dont understand the point you are driving at... but I do know that my recent investment in a SPCwarrant ran out of time , became worthless and it cost me lots of $$ (but I swear now not to touch warrant, and I put this behind me..).
chinkiasu...
I said 'time'... and not just timing... :)
Time IS money in people's lives...
Especially so in the stock market...
say you are caught in a downtrend phase eg. in SPC and have ridden it all the way down from 6.05 to 4.04. Isn't that a waste of time???
One could have made money riding it all the way down from there, thus saving time and money too...

in case, anyone is looking for trading ideas, do take a look at celestial and SMB
SPC got potential to makes lotsa of $$$ if they do discover oil. but what i am saying is that there are currently many other counters that give better risk/return ratios compared to SPC. try taking a look at those instead.
Investment don't reward those who are impatient
Don't wish to comment. Just watch
i really doubt from FA considerations that SPC will touch 4.32 and go below that for at least until the divvy... in fact I see 4.40 as the support level.. however no need to argue over this.. we just wait and see, and I will continue to buy at 4.40... and certainly at 4.38..
hey...concur with singaporegal on the stagnancy. looking at the dipping vols, likely to stay muted for now. might be a good entry below 4.32 (seems to have quite a bit of support there). no hurry to enter any counter now anyway; general outlook is pessimistic. can afford to wait and see.
Giantlow,
That is a very good assessment. They have to find more oil and exploration is an extremely high cost and high risk game. They may have to explore deeper waters and more difficult terrains which make it more volatile.
Peace
ah.. I see what you mean... its about the timing of making a buy or sell of a stock.. of cos... i thot you were talking about time as in a persons life is money...

The answer lies in any stock chart...
Price alone is meaningless without the real dimension of time... :)
oh
?? please explain...ipunter

Investment is not just about money...
It is more about time... :)
