Maybe, some SIAS members can approach the management to assist to hold such talks. SIAS Research stands for 'Securities Investors Association (Singapore)', website www.sias.org.sg
SIAS Research are also interested to educate small investors.
With education, we can become "First World" investors.

Firstly, well done Fortunegal to pull this one off. Well done indeed. Besides, you are actually hosting this at your place. The reason why the CNY ge-together tanked becos' no one (me included) wanted to take ownership of the event. So, it died of a natural death. Now to the part that will probably get me in the line of fire.
I can understand that everyone is hungry for knowledge, so the more the merrier. I just find it so strange that it is a knowledge sharing session by Simon Loh and along the way people started to ask Singaporegal to share also. I am sure Singaporegal doesn't mind sharing her knowledge, as she has always done in this forum. No one seems to care if she's available, or perhaps she would like to preserve anonymity. (just like many in this forum)
Besides, it is a session by Simon Loh as suggested by the title. It just don't seem right to me leh. Imagine you are key speaker at a seminar and on the day of the seminar, you find that there are someone else. I'm sure that Simon Loh doesn't mind. He is kind enough to make himself available to share with 30+ people he doesn't know. So, a little respect here goes a long way. Perhaps that's why Singaporegal hasn't replied because she understands it is a session by Simon Loh and she doesn't want to 'xuan1 bin1 tuo2 zhu3' (literal translation: becoming the host when invited as guest).
OK, I spoke my mind. Hum-dump if you must. Think about the msg.
It would be practical to start looking into getting a sufficiently bigger place to acccomodate the future crowd...
which is bound to build up very quickly... :)
Well DONE, fortunegal, for organising the talk, Thank You in advance to Simon Loh for preparing the talk, I am sure SJ forumers wil benefit greatly. May I suggest some kind soul to summarise the talk and post it on this thread so that many investors can too benefit from the talk. Will SingaporeGal come also to give some advices on TA matters. thank to all for ur compliments... We have to thank simon for volunteering to teach n share! in my opinion, if there is a learning session with common-minded ppl, ppl will come, and specially when it is free. But someone Pro has to give the class and thanks god Simon volunteer (thanks simon too). Ppl always say that Education is well-learned and ppl will only remember and pay more attention when money is paid. Look at all the movitation courses outside by anothny robbins or other guru, it is all more than $2K.
and look at the option trading course by www.freely.com, my colleague told me she pay $10K, including opening of US account, the course fees, etc,etc to kick off the option trading, but of course they are many success stories in it (they called themselves the millionaire team - their goal). They even held frequent meetings in some of the members' house to continuous discuss about option trading after the course! she told me they discuss from 8pm to 12 am or 1am(?!!). it is a never-ending learning process. no wonder their teacher said trading should not be done alone, but in a group (they also have their own forums).
so in conclusion, what i want to say is 24th march session is so far free, and I really hope we pay serious attention and come with a positive attitude. The hours that day may be short, but if we are able to pick up that important 1 point or two pointers, it may be good enough to re-mold part of investment mindset, cut our loss or remove a bad decision .

I need some help, as the ppl are getting MORE and MORE.
1) Can any gracious nice guys voluntary buy YEO's packet drinks for that day session? two cartons of Yeo is enough. 2 cartion x 24 packets for 30+ ppl. cos simon will be talking n talking, very thirsty. we are also busy talking to new found friends, need water for the 2 hrs or more.
and pls don't buy beer for mens!! :op *kidding*
2) I think it is best I need one more helper. This person must be very intitative, for e.g. pass him or her a drink that he reaches, help to mark the attendance when i am busy on the mobile if some ppl lose their way. any hero to come help me?
Hi, I am sorry that the response is too overwhelming! One more last name and I need to stop the attendance as it is reaching 30 ppl, the figure is in fact more as some bring friends, wife,etc.
