Hmm talking about football, SPC should think about sponsoring an S-league club.  It will be good to see a S-League FC team having SPC logo on its jersey.

Keppel Corp bought 1750 lots at about 4.81 each.

This certainly is an indication that 1Q results will be good.

eh....you ppl damn cute man....SPC goes up 12c a day, i don't hear anyone worried abt why the sudden spike; but it drops 8c a day, and ppl panic....pls control emotions and see rationally leh....

it's really quite normal for a stock to drop a day after a sudden spike....esp when tech-wise it broke its upper bollie. unless that stock is ho bee of course *curses* (more on that on fellowship thread; won't distract the spc forumers). do concur with singaporegal on slight weakness; but note too that vols have fallen.

update: 98 lots sell down at 9.21; 30 and 47 lots buy up at 9.23 and 9.25 am.

Hi Victorian, Stop Looking at my Boobs I was trying out the new search functions: Glasses I note that we didnt actually agree on what we bet about when we were debatingSmiley in Feb about SPC prices.. dont see "$1".. nor the 5.00 target...  I did however state this

this may well be the case with this counter.....  we just got no choice but wait..

However, the fact is this counter is really value for money.. the "sifus" out there: pls correct me if I am wrong in my reasoning:

assuming the EPS is a constant 0.5538, and if the PE, that I think is good for this share, is 8, i.e for every dollar invested I get a return of 12.5% pa, the price of this share should be $4.43 ex dividend.  At the current price of $4.46 factoring current dividend, the price of this share should be approx $4.79.

Right now if I just go for dividend play, for every $4.46 I will get 0.35 in three months i.e 32% pa (i.e assuming XD price is $4.46). If I think the ex dividend price is $4.43, then netting of the "loss of 3" cents my just dividend play will yield me about 28% pa .

How not to chiong?

Associated Press

SINGAPORE ? Oil prices slipped on profit-taking Monday but remained supported by anxiety over the tensions between Iran and Britain and news of another oil worker kidnapped in Nigeria.

The British government said Sunday it was in direct contact with Iran and examining options for new dialogue over the crew of 15 sailors and marines seized by Iran over a week ago.

?Nigeria coupled with the ongoing tensions in Iran have provided quite a bit of market-moving news on top of the relatively tight fundamentals,? said Victor Shum an energy analyst with Purvin & Gertz in Singapore.

Light, sweet crude for May delivery fell 17 cents to $65.70 (U.S.) a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange mid-afternoon in Singapore.

Dear chipchip66, I think you are right to hold.  Apparently current refining margins are at their highest in a long time at around $9 compared to about $2 last year.  This information can be obtained from regular Merrill Lynch reports on the oil market although I have not seen these reports myself.  There is very strong demand for refined products at the moment but refining capacity is fixed in the short term. Thus the high refining margin is independent of crude prices.  SPC is likely to make very good profit again this year.  SPC's price will easily passed  $5 soon.  That is why Keppel Corp is buying.  Victorian will win his bet.

No kelong lah. First sign of weakness I see on the indicators made me sell 1/2. If you dont see it, you wont sell correct? And will start likely asking whats going on.

In any case, lets hope its DOES consolidate and follow the old saying - after a consolidation phase, price action TENDS to resume its earlier course of trend - upwards. :p

lewsh88,

If you friend is riding on profit , nothing to be afraid of.

Just decide how much to sell to take profit and hold the rest for dividend.

someone is trying to buy this counter at lower price if  there is panic selling to take profit,

Is it possible that the recent fall of the Dow has predicted  the current volatility in the Middle East?

Is so, then the show may not be over yet.
