It could be a technical rebound more than resume bullish trend.
After so many days of down down, it time to moves up again.
Whether this rebound got enough strength will depend on tmr performance.
If really market U - Turns, can opts to chase stocks which did not gain much today.
As I said before, bullish trend is commencing while emerging to December 2010!

STI turns up, +0.2% at 3,150.92, though volume modest at 624 million shares worth $700 million, suggesting limited investor participation, with most analysts expecting market to remain lackluster heading towards year-end. For next year, UBS expects earnings upgrade momentum to slow sharply, due to slowing growth, rising cost pressures, hawkish domestic policies: “Having said that, we believe valuations are supportive primarily because long-term Singapore dollar interest rates are likely to stay exceptionally low, as capital inflows chase the expected appreciation of the Singapore dollar.”
Sets end-2011 STI target at 3,600. Gains in SIA (C6L.SG), +2.7% at $15.84, likely buoying index, despite its $61.9 million provision to be made current FY. Other actives include Keppel Corp (BN4.SG) +1.3% at $10.80, Golden Agri (E5H.SG) +0.7% at $0.730, Genting Singapore (G13.SG) +0.5% at $2.00. MIDDAY REPORT STI flat midday; cautious trade to remain -SIAS |
WRITTEN BY DOW JONES & CO, INC | WEDNESDAY, 01 DECEMBER 2010 12:51 |
STI flat at 3143.77 midday with little impetus pushing market either way, though negative tone likely to remain given weak China, HK bourses in face of China data reinforcing need for Beijing tightening measures.
“With the markets still rather weak at this point in time, we’re concerned that stocks will still be trading cautiously,” says SIAS Research technical analyst Edmund Seow. “That being said, the U.S. markets do seem to have a little more stability in them at this time, and their consolidations seems to be starting to end.” Low 527 million shares traded, with debutante Amtek (M1P.SG) most active, at $1.02, well below $1.30 IPO price. SembCorp Marine (S51.SG), down 1.6% at $4.79, still underperforming peers after Petrobras tender pricing last week. Reyoung Pharmaceutical (R12.SG) +21% at $0.520 on buyout offer; C&O Pharmaceutical (E92.SG) +3.1% at $0.50 on investment by Sumitomo Corp. 3118 still likely STI support.

Today the world markets rallied apparently due to
news of wrapping up of the war games...
Thus there's widespread euphoria...
It is only with hindsight that one can tell what market it is...
I said "if he"...
and not that we are in a bear market...
Nobody can know whether we are in a bull or bear market...
which means, we can of course be in a big bull market now...

Yes, you are right, I have several counters paper gain that I recently bought, normaly I could ride on about 20 to 25% gain. This time I 'll expect about 20% gain on hand, while I keep buying selectively the other counters.

1 Dec 2010 – STI close Up at 3182. Moving Sideways.
If STI moves above 3182 tomorrow, it could be the start of the Bull Run. That is the 1st Day of the Buy Window and the Best time to start Buying; Risk is Minimum and Success Rate is High.
Now is to load your ammo and get ready to start Buying. Aim for Good Fundamental Counters that are Under Value.

In view of the risky nature of the stock market,
It is more imporant not to lose a lot of money in it.
Thus, making a lot of money in the stock market
should only be a secondary considration.
By treating one's involvment as a bet,
one is assured of avoiding big losses.
Unlike those who treat their purchases
