scare and collect is an overated strategy. Generally, investors are well informed. Making profits aside, the warning over capital raising didn't sit well with many.Once this uncertainty is resolved, I reckon there will be renewed interest in this counter. No prizes for guessing which are the preferred options (they listed 3) and if actuated how much, allocation and discount. These are peripheral issues. Are margins sustainable? Revenues less licensing? Competition? I sense that BIG can grow only as fast as the external factors allows it. Throw in the internal contraints of limited resources and you'll have a better picture.
Gent and Bios-2 different industries, risk levels-competition and technology, etc, etc
I may be wrong but I believe the amount of BIG's capital needs will be over and in excess of the cash call due in Nov.09. Just my POV.

(Q)uiets your fears
(R)aises your spirits
Agreed, jangan tention, relax lah, day will come.
Logically, Biosensors revenue should improve going forward, as they add more countries to the approval list to sell their Bio-matrix.
They have added Mexico and Venezuela in late February 09, got the 2.25mm DES approval in Mar 09.
Also, they last mentioned France, in previous qtr, and that country, as well as China should also be getting the approval in the 'not too distant future' (quote from CEO).
Terumo will also be simultaneously getting approvals for their Nobori DES as well, and you would noticed that the licensing revenue from Terumo actually grew from US$1.3m in qtr 0309 to US$1.8m in current qtr ( a 38% increase).
Some empirical observation. Not a call to buy/sell.
Hehe hope you are not scaring people to dump so you can collect? ...dont understand logic why selling (going to be) a profit making company for a serious money losing company? Look at the analysts consensus between GentSP and BioS, so much difference, Genting is 50 cents and Bio is 90 cents, Gent loosing tons of $ and Bio loosing few bucks. Unless you are going to keep Genting for a few years to see profit? I say buy BioS as the next Q they have to report profit otherwise serious dumping will take place. Report profit or report loss for next Q is within their control, guess what they are going to do?
Anyway buy both is best, next Q generally result will be better than last Q for most stocks, so STI will cheong after drifting with low volume, so bet on either will Huat Huat Huat.. BioS is a slow mover Genting is a shortist fav, so pros and cons... Lots of people wanted to break the next support level in 2 weeks time...watch this space...

I can reveal it, while eating dinner time at China Town I over hear them saying Yip Poh Sar Hor Fund... oso a lot of people queuing for it...must be a popular fund...
..
Last time there was Ah Moh remiser then Chinese remiser and now some funny fund. Soon it will be my company if I dont stop buying....jj.
Tomorrow is a good time to accumulate...get your cash out, save on your $20 pizza, go $2 chow mee hoon and use the 18 to collect more bio. U know it make sense.
Above is a call to buy Hor Fun...
Just a reply to the previous question on what fund my friend is in. I am sorry that i cannot reveal, it is just over dinner that we talked about it.
If Biosensors are not rising in price and stagnant in trading within 2-3 cents range; it just goes to show that they will need to accumulate at least 30-40million shares before they push up the prices.
That is only 1 trade house, or fund that i know. And funds usually work hand in hand. If they pull their resources together, its not hard to see Biosensors at $0.65 or more by end June.
As for takeovers, i am not sure. Looking at other posts, seems that even if the price choeng 30-40%, also not worth to cash in since some big boys i.e. JNJ will come in and take over once the company stabilizes.
Don't worry lah. Soon someone will want Biosensors too.
Cheers.

It beats me why BIG has not fly yet. Yesterday Cardio-Dynamic, a US$0.76 stock shot 57 cents to US$1.32 because someone intended to buy some of their shres: Prior to news: CDIC was only $0.76 Then it went up immediately on news to $1.31.
Hope BIG can do better and spring/wake up with the sentiment in the industry. This is the news:
|
SonoSite Inc. said it will buy CardioDynamics International Corp. for $1.35 per share in cash, or about $10 million.
