singaporegal, wow your expectation of eastern europe is a little bit backward leh, very unlike your TA skills which is following the latest trend. Actually for big cities in countries Czech, Hungary, they were never backward even during the Soviet Bloc era. It was just that there was little access to these countries during to the iron curtain and therefore there were very little publicities. They have been well known for being very advanced culturally. If you like places like Austria, that's rich in culture, you will like Budapest, Prague etc. Besides, they are nothing like Vietnam, and other SEA countries.

 

I highly recommend Prague. Do you know that Prague is about the only major city that escaped unscathed during WWII from air-raid? Therefore a lot of the historical buildings you see in the city are actually in its original state. Whereas in places like Dresden (Germany), it was one of the most badly hit city. The buildings in Dresden are actually restored or reconstructed based on original.

 

 

 

I have gone to several countries in Eastern Europe...they're full of unspoiled places.  Take the beaten road when you're on holiday, sure beats joining a tour group.  Backpack, there's lots to see.

Hi elfin, kitten is behaving rather well.... working hard during office hrs....  my boss just annouce the IT guys is logging and trekking all the web activity so long we using the company laptop..... damn!!

i think after the Eastern Bloc joined EU, they have started to improve their standards of living and thus you will find that their prices are also "improved".  However, having said that, i think the pricing is still not as steep as the likes of London or Paris.

Czech Republic and Hungary would perhaps rank as some of the most beautiful countries in the world. I think its a fact that Czech has most castles in the world.

 Personally though, i have yet to step foot on European soil, although that's about to change pretty soon. Hee...

Just a question to everyone. Has anyone been to eastern Europe before? I'm really tempted but was quite surprised that the prices to those countries are expensive. I thought they were not so well developed.

lol...this morning i was about to short gemstv one....then suddenly an angel pop out beside me..tell me shorting very evil...like cuasing other pple to lose money like that...then i decided against it...so i guess shorting is something i must comes to terms with soon ba =p.

lol..very mao dun...yest wanna short got restricted by poems i keep cursing...today can short i xia bu liao shou...haiz..
