Good buy

The below report  from CIMB on 30/9/2009 Wednesday

Expected to secure A$125m orders from Gorgon in the next six months.

Over the next 18 months, management plans to submit A$1bn of bids for the Gorgon
project.

Some A$60m has already been submitted and another A$420m will be
submitted by end-2009.

The bids are for fabrication work for the upstream phase (preassembled
pipe racks, modules, subsea manifolds and spools).

We expect the group to secure A$125m of contracts from the project by 1Q10.

To date, the Gorgon project has awarded A$2bn worth of projects to sub-contractors for infrastructure and logistics work and is expected to award another A$10bn in the coming three months.

We anticipate further order wins from the Gorgon project for AusGroup from 2H10
when contracts for subsea/LNG plant work are announced.

On the lookout for acquisitions.

With a strong cash position, we expect management to announce acquisitions in the near term. Potential acquisitions would be similar to MAS: providing similar businesses, enhancing AusGroup’s footprint in East Australia/South-East Asia and achieving the required rate of returns.

Ausgroup Ltd (S$0.73) - Right place, right time

We initiate coverage on AusGroup with a target price of S$1.08, based on 13x

CY11 P/E, in line with its historical average since listing. We see share-price

catalysts from order wins from a series of LNG and mineral projects in Australia.

Among its SGX-listed peers, AusGroup has purer exposure to the Australian LNG

sector, thanks to its wider ambit of services and operations in Australia. The group

is bidding for A$2bn worth of orders in LNG and mineral resource projects over

the next 12 months and we estimate its order book could grow by 25% to A$500m

by Jun 10. We see a buying opportunity as AusGroup is trading below its

historical valuations.

DJ MARKET TALK: CIMB Initiates AusGroup At Outperform

0410 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: CIMB initiates AusGroup (5GJ.SG) at Outperform, sets S$1.08 target price. Broker says company, which provides engineering services to oil & gas, and mineral resource industries in Australia and Singapore, well placed for order wins on series of LNG and mineral projects in Australia. "Tendering for various contracts is underway and we believe AusGroup can secure an initial AUS125 million contract in FY10." Says company's broad range of services, presence on the ground in Australia means it is better placed than its SGX-listed peers to benefit from Australia's expanding LNG sector. Adds company trading below historic valuations, on forward PE ratio of 9X vs historical 13X average. "We see a buying opportunity." Shares off 2.1% at S$0.715. (KIG)

No, I limit myself to at most 5 counters for short to mid-term to dedicate my full attention on research on the FA n TA and time my entry and exit.

Also in case heavy mkt corrections, can get out quickly.

Good durians, up to 5 is good enuf, it is the quality tat counts, not quantity.

Of course, I do hold some other counters for the long-term (exit only when the long-term trend changes) n due to time constraint, I dun post on every counters tat I hold.

Hi RichTan

I'm curious.  I see your postings mainly on Ausgroup.  Are you not vested in others, such as Sinomen and United Envirotech?  Both, in my opinion, are good stocks.

By the way,  many thanks for the breakpointtrades' url. I didnt subscribe.
