DJ MARKET TALK: S-Shares Heading Higher On China Market Rally 0413 GMT [Dow Jones] Singapore-listed China stocks, or S-chips, seeing good gains amid bargain hunting driven by rise for China market; FTSE ST China index +2.9% at 6-day high of 450.93 vs FTSE ST All Share +0.4%. "Shanghai is seeing some good gains, so that's probably the reason the S-shares are up," says trader at local brokerage. Big S-share gainers include Ferrochina (F33.SG) +8.7% at S$1.37, China Hongxing (BR9.SG) +5.4% at S$0.485, Synear (Z75.SG) +10.9% at S$0.51, Bio-Treat (B22.SG) +15.1% at S$0.305. Presence of decent traded volumes suggests buying interest has momentum and S-shares still generally oversold on technical indicators, so could continue to rebound if China equity market remains supportive.
