US oil giant Chevron and home-grown Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) are going ahead with building their clean fuels project, starting with a US$81 million revamp of the hydro-sulphuriser plant at their joint venture Singapore Refining Company complex to produce ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) of Euro-IV specification.

For today, I will raise 2 topics. First is the recent news of F1 coming over to Singapore .

The news of F1 coming into Singapore is a positive news for the overall Singapore economy. With an estimate that this event will bring in 100,000 tourist. SPC can benefit from this event through increase air fuel demand, bunkering business and gasoline demand. A successful F1 will improve Singapore's International branding. SPC should grab this golden opportunity to build up its brand.

 

I like to start a series of topics here that touches on issues closely related to SPC. The purpose of this is to provide further insight to the future prospect of SPC and also its risk exposure. Suggested topic includes:

1) SPC business porfolio
2) Refining margin and refining capacity
3) Global warming and energy
4) US economy and global economy

haha, godpa's buyback was hardly an admittance of mistake, ya know... from a tech perspective, he was right. plus, the time that SPC was stagnating, in and out of another counter fast, lock in more profits. Then back to SPC. pure technical trade in between the FA one.

yes sir, Eastonbay.. thanks.. indeed I have made back my loss in that warrant plus a bit more now..but I still swear off warrants..  I think those guys that issues them are the ones making all the profits.. and while those who buy them are likely to get burnt.. odds are weighted much against the players...

Are you going to try to short SPC tommorow?

 

We must make more than 6% in $$ invested here. If not, it make more sense to put $$ in the bond mkt where safely we can get 5.5-5.8% yearly! SPC divvy has far exceeded that plus the recent spike of share price, I think we are on cloud 9. IS ANYONE COMPLAINING???

 

jkbk007...well I must say it's a wise choice to put $$ in stock mkt if you have found one stock that appreciates in price (JUST LIKE SPC!!!). With a divvy of 35¢ which equates to about 7-8% yield, it's unlikely any bank can match that figure. On top of that, the $$ invested appreciates in value. I dun see what reason/s not to put $$ in SPC! If not SPC, any stock should give an average yield of about 3% in general as compared to banks giving less than 1% in interest earn. If only we can invest in SPC ard 2002-3 when the price hovered ard $2.50, we are now making 100% of the $$ invested plus the yearly divvy. Lets see if your counting of 5,6,7...to 12 is correct, we shd see 100%-300% gain...lol!!! Cheers to all vested, I AM!!!...I will be going to Hanoi tmorrow and will not monitor the share for a while. Please ask all your relatives and friends to support the price. I hope to see $6 when I come back in 1 week time.

heya chinkiasu, nice to see ya back. and haha, my godpa's more intelligent than that lah. he bought back spc on friday already. his own decision man.

besides he has elf and bunnie as goddaughters, even if don't gain, not likely to lose a lot in investing. haha. we all got lots to learn from him.
