RT, if I'm not wrong, there was also a previous case involving a Japanese brokerage firm making a price mistake.  Eventually, SGX came in to mediate and the buyer finally accepted to null the trade in good faith.  However, I admit that in this case is a little more complicated because it involves more than 1 trade.  See tomorrow's BT for the final result lah.

i agree, itan888.. I am using dbsvonline, and they actually will reject my order when it is ridiculously out...

 

l_tan888, got some questions.. i understand if sgx "key wrongly" due to malfunction or something like that, they can reverse the orders.. but in this case, it is done by someone maybe/maybe not from sgx, so in this case, sgx still can void? then wat if brokers/dealers/remisiers "used" a proxy to receive the scipts and get that proxy to made a big hooha if those trades will to be void, what are the procedures in place?? thanks.

 

Anyway, I still believe the buyer of the 27c DBS must be an institutional or brokerage.  I had once keyed in excessively wrong price in POEMS before and it immediately prompted me to use the FORCE KEY if I want to proceed.  That would have raised the alarm to the retail trader of a wrong price input.

 

jerome, good for you and how i wish i could knew you earlier?? who knows, i might had knew you liao (did you check your email?).. used to treat my frens very good until they treat me like a "sah kua", thus now i few frens only..

 

geojam, if i will have the chance to decide whether i wan to reverse or not, seriously i wouldn't want to reverse it... debatable issues again... pls dun "attack" me... coz i, i faster than wind leh... so dun waste your time in "attacking" me, hahahahaha. peace..

Rt--i do not trade so much--more like buy for mid to long term.

 

I will definitely return the money as I prefer to keep my conscience clean. Inner peace is more important to me than some money dropping down from the sky at the expense and suffering of others.

RT, I've just read a posting at the CNA forum.  There was also a case where the forumer bought Creative at $1.30, but was eventually voided by SGX.  I think it should be fair trade.  Everyone knows buying DBS at 27c is ridiculous.  Its warrants would be more likely.

 

geojam sir, if you are serious.. you can always subscribe to DBSVonline or other online services and trade on line...  do this when you next visit Singapore.. the payment can be via giro which means you need a local bank account here where you link the giro....

however skype (use skypeout so your broker can be contacted on his landline or mobile) is certainly the way to go if you want to continue using broker services.  (i assume you are not snooking us so I offer this advice -  just simply down load the software from skype.com and if your note book comes with in built speaker and mic you are on.. other wise buy a head set with mic and plug in:  it is really simple if you stop giving excuses like you are too old and if you put your mind to it: I know of folks at least 10 years your senior who are using skype) however as you are a FA player ie. i think your phone call charge is really not that much cf with overall trade so learning skype even though simple may not be worth you bother....

bt strange leh, there were one/two/three marriage deals for dbs in the morning leh, then suddenly 27 cents "pop-up".. machiam like kelong football games.... where the balls keep "tio tiang"...

 

jerome, are you a very religious person?? all my frens in the financial sector dun like to talk about karma one... if my frens will the buyers, they surely won't reverse one..

 

geojam, bt msn can talked?? the skype can talk real live one... where got red colors in bank account one?? no try to snook me hor... snook me with no red balls to eat nw still tell me red colors... i tot black colors one.. although i nt very highly educated bt i am nt stupid... hahahaha.

 

if mistake is not reversed, i think its real sad case of the harms of technology.

if the buyers do not want to reverse it, then i really think karma will come full circle one day.
