AGM 23 April at Pan Pacific hotel...can ask the new shareholders what's their aim and missions since they can't take STXOSV as private..I am buying at current low price $1.22..ever bought also at this price and sold at $1.7 before ..overall this my favourite since buying at 80cts 1 cts above ipo during 2010's N_S Korea tension when STXOSV nearly went below ipo 79cts....sold at $1.39-1.65 and when Japan Earth Quake bought again at aboput $1.10..overall good tidy profits plus getting all their dividends when I hold some at average prices ranging from 80cts -$1.20.
I reckon low or bvottom liao at $1.22,unlikley the Italian will let it go way below this price, bearing in mind ,they also bought at $1.22-1.24 a few weeks ago as reported in Edge Mag..under purchases by substantial shareholders

But how can you see any double dip 'forming' even before it is shown on the chart?
Is it your prediction, or your imagination, or your kakis'. he he.

Many will " mau" ... But never ask others to follow you. Just " mau" yourself and become rich.
If they don't " mau" , how can they become rich by playing kacang puteh tikam-tikam?
But usually they will become angry if you don't follow their ego to " mau" with them.

Forming double dip....is time to MAU again ...iPunter!!!!!
Sifu has very good and solid points there. Very insightful stuff.
Let's hope this stock " Chiong Aaaaaaaarh!!!" for the everyone's benefit.
Pardon me, but i do not agree with you.
Tons of reasons why stock price should increase and not fall but just to state a few.
Higher stock price are beneficial not only to us small fries but to both the large shareholders and top executives.(Capital gains)
Moreover it makes the company more valuable
And   intrinsic  play has stated, higher stock price will increase the  available  line of credit. Bank decide credit limit by using the stock price to value a company.Loan allows the company to achieve  leverage in their business operations. Whether is this good or bad depends on how they invest and this might result in small returns into large gains if invested correctly.
So if the company plan for the stock price to increase, Dividend generally will be paid as a sign of stability since investors will see it as a less risky investment.

Unless all the shareholders cash out(which doesnt make sense when Finc just bought and own 50.75% of it's shares @ $1.22) , i highly doubt it will be nose diving in the long run.
This is just my point of view.
Cheers )

Whether a company distributes dividends have got nothing to do with whether the company is generous. If VARD distributes dividends, who is the one getting the most dividends? It is the Italians who are holding the most shares.
Similarly, the high dividend payout in the past is not because the previous korean parent was generous, but because they took on a lot of debt to fund their acquisitions and so need the dividends to pay interest.Paying dividends is not a good or bad thing per se. Generally, companies in mature, slow growing industries will pay dividends as they have no use for the excess cash. Investors who like a regular income stream will be attracted to these kind of companies. Conversely, companies in high growth industries will generally not pay dividends as they want to retain the cash to fund acquisitions/ capital expenditure to grow the company.

Fincan would want to milk Vard... dividend is the only way they can extract cash out from them to fund the Group's other businesses, like what STX Grp did in the first place. Another way would be to pledge Vard's stock as collateral for loans (and hence the higher the stock price the better), of cuz which would be unwise for the management.
Also, in terms of Fincan's balance sheet, i think a higher stock price for its subsidiaries would mean a bump in their assets in terms of goodwill or what valuation measure is reflected on their annual reports

I hope Joanne Peh is in this forum. I want to learn some stock kung-fu from her.
I heard she just completed a stint recently in the Stockwhiz competition.

Sifu is right... Of course the company won't be " pok!" ... it is the ordinary players.
This company has great potential for BIG profits, which they may want to keep for themselves.
They do not need a high stock price. Why should they distribute the profits to the public?
Just some feed for thought.

breaking down of $1.20 may be hitting $1.10 soon
By letting it slide further will incur lost for the Italians. Anyway their order book   for this year is even healthier then last year thus chances of pok is slim. Just need to know what is the Italians direction for this year and the next 3-5years.
In my opinion, The Italians  strategy is  to push prices down thus allowing them to buy more(since there are always a group of investors who will sell once price keep dipping)
Keeping track via the link below will be a good indicator if this is true
