"Fundamentals thinking" has already wiped out many people in the last few months alone.

Bet on a rise or fall as the market progresses and act accordingly...

but never base one's actions on the stocks' fundamentals.

Because when the market tanks (to borrow one of dear Elfin's terms), all stocks go with it.

And also, when the market 'cheongs' all fundamentally bad stocks cheeong too... hehehe... Smiley

At what price do you all think is the bottom for this stock? Given a choice, would you buy one lot of UOB or one lot of SGX+Singtel+OCBC each? The total price is around the same.

I would go for this: SGX+Singtel+OCBC

Read your blog. Interesting.. For me, I aim only for 7% per year average.
For me, my investment motivation is that it is fun and to beat better than inflation.
It is difficult actually, after some years in it. If we are devoid of emotion, maybe it would be easier. Sometimes when I look back with my old portfolio, perhaps it is better if I sit on it for 15yrs and cash out during peak, then i would have done much better. On hindsight, "In In Out Out " is not the way for me due to emotion and work commitment.

uncle Yaw still holding 17.33% stake, as in Mar 08. Both sons equally holding 9.8 % each.

Not sure how other local banks involvements in Mac, Mae and Lehman Bro issues. HK and SKorea had halted interest with Lehman Bro offer.
